Back when I played 1/1 and 1/2 20bb cap games in SoCal with $4+1 auto drop, I regularly saw people tipping $1 every hand no matter what, $2-5 whenever a pot got over $100 and if a pot got into multiple hundreds people would tip like $10. It wasn't uncommon for some donks to tip like a quarter of the pot if they massively sucked out on someone because they really believe in superstition and dealers controlling the cards. I don't think I've ever seen a non super rich businessman tip more than $5 in any pot in 5/10+, and even then that's only for the $5k pots.
When I was a broke college donk $100 was like some crazy amt for me and I tipped a lot for what I thought were "big" pots that were in reality tiny. I assume that's how most poor people think and thats why they tip so much.
