How much do dealers really get tipped

Ive looked through some threads but was unable to find how much dealers really get tipped. Say at 1/2 NL if your a dealer how much tips are you taking in on average per hour. Does that change between underground poker rooms vs established casinos. I was thinking 40$ per hour? (25 hands 1-2 per hand) but might be way off.

In the underground clubs in NYC they're making $75-$100 an hour on average. Pretty sick considering some 1-2 games have a $15 max chop. Try beating that game in the long run.

Re: How much do dealers really get tipped

There's a lot of this in the tip discussion thread.

Short answer is: "About a buck a hand, give or take, depending on limits, regions and time of day."

Factor in a base wage that averages near minimum (more or less in states with lower tip wages or higher minimums) and roughly 70% of their on-the-clock time is actually spent dealing tipable downs.

Taxes vary as well. Many states have tip compliance laws that allow dealers to claim a fixed figure that may or may not be the same as their actual tips. Some locations may count every penny. Others not so much.

Finally, remember that the tip structure in their location may sometimes also include them tipping others in their room.

I have talked to dealers at local casinos and according to them they all claim (for taxes) $3.5/hour in tips altho they make quite a bit more.

I am not sure what its like in the states, but over here poker dealers have to share their tips with floor dealers where tipping is significantly less.

Re: How much do dealers really get tipped

I was a dealer in underground clubs for 10 years. I would make around 300.00 a nite if we played 10 to 12 hours. And in some of the bigger games I would be paid 10.00 a down plus tips. ( a down = 30 mins to 1 hour of dealing depending how long u get to deal) But in underground clubs that I worked in you had to put up with alot of **** somethimes, but sometimes it was great to. Just saying. At one time i was dealing in 3 different states in a week. But that got old quick the driving and motels was taking alot of money.
And I have had jobs where the players like for you to play if it got short and sometimes I didnt want play but the house man would kind of give me a dirty look and say get in thier make this game last.

Underground you can easily make 15$+/hr in tips if not double at a 1/2 game. Depending how big the game plays used to make about 200 in tips from a 1/2 game 9 player with about 1,700-1,800 in the middle.

They do, it's ridiculous. At an underground club I used to play 2/5 at they had three dealers rotating every half hour. I counted each dealer's tokes at the end of one their shifts. From my best recollection: $41, $33, and $68 (hot chick... go figure).

i actually know several poker dealers and if they're busy most of the night they usually pull in at least $150-200 after taxes a night.

Re: How much do dealers really get tipped

im MN the dealers are taking in around $200 in an 8 hr shift. The table games dealers are crushing that as they keep their own as well and ive seen them drop $100+ in a half hour if players are winning its kind of gross to watch.

Re: How much do dealers really get tipped

I have played in many underground games where 5$ chips are the lowest and dealers CRUSH it. i have even played some where the lowest chips were $25.00. (the action was so good you didn't mind tossing the dealer 1 every 3-4 pots.
