Whatever game you're playing don't be afraid to stand behind seat one and look at the plaque with buy ins mins and max and rake info on them!
Thanks again

Re: ***Foxwoods/Mohegan LC Thread***

Does anyone have any idea if it will be packed tomorrow at Foxwoods (Saturday - earlier in the day around noon to 5pm). I was considering going then but don't want to if I will have to wait hours to get a table being New Years eve weekend?

tomorrow will be busy but will die off early evening I think. Sunday will be very busy, and I think Monday will be busy too with a lot of working folks being off for "new years day observed" or whatever.

Re: ***Foxwoods/Mohegan LC Thread***

ate at prime this week for the first time. wine by the glass is modest and not worth it for the price imo. the mashed potatoes are amazing. my filet mignon was med well-well and i ordered it medium so i was a bit disappointed, but ate it anyhow.

overall the food was pretty good id say 7.5 out of 10. they have a 29$ lobster meal on mondays which includes a lobster app, a 1 lb lobster prepared 4 different ways and a dessert. my bill after 2 entrees 4 glasses of wine, and 3 sides was $150 but i used points so it didnt bother me too much. i dont think id return if i wasnt using points, or at least wouldnt drink any booze there. seemed excessive considering i was drinking ketel one on the rocks at high rollers afterwards for $11 a glass.

Re: ***Foxwoods/Mohegan LC Thread***

FWIW machine if you ever plan on drinking around four glasses of wine always get a full bottle, the prices by the glass are always more than a full bottle would cost which contains around four glasses of wine (full pours)

by the glass is pretty much a scam to increase profit margins, lower price point on the menu so seems like a bargin.

not that all this matters much though if you are just spending points/end wine rant

i actually drink a bit of wine and usually order a bottle. i also bartended for a few years too so im aware of the ways to maximize alcohol per dollar thanks for taking the time to post though

one of the cheapest bottles there was from a CT vineyard, Jonathan Edwards, and was 52.50. its around 10$ a bottle at a store or at the vineyard.

went with the glasses because we had white to start, then red with the meals.

IMO, DB Prime is an excellent restaurant, with a very ambitious and creative menu, but occasionally erratic on execution. I always order steaks medium-rare, and have twice had to send back a steak there because it was served beyond medium. A shame, really, for such a beautiful piece of meat (I hope someone in the kitchen ate it), but at the prices and at their aspiration level, there's no reason to accept a dish there if it isn't right. Still a fine restaurant, though, and I keep going back.
Regarding the prices, they are high (and I do agree with you on the by-the-glass wine selection), but they're no higher than those at equivalent restaurants in NYC or Boston. I actually think that using points for meals at Prime (and Craftsteak!) is one of the better uses available for them.

Re: ***Foxwoods/Mohegan LC Thread***

obv i was with another person. i hate sending food back, i know what can happen to food at times when its sent back. i dont think anything would have happened at a place like prime but i worked in the restaurant industry for a while and have seen a few things that really make you know to NEVER **** with your waiters. i was kinda shocked that he didnt just offer a free glass of wine or something. but the steak was still good so i didnt mind it too much

i actually hate using my points for food, but i already used them once for a movado, and the next step up would be a breitling from the rolex shop but i doubt ill be able to save up enough points, so food it was. not much else in the shops there to spend the points on imo

Which room is better for those of you who frequent both? Ms is the only poker room I've ever played in and it seems good but I have nothing to compare it to. Fw is 20 min farther so I stick to ms lol. Is fw worth the extra 40 min? I play 1/2.
