I'd say about 250 is average, definitely gets over 200 and I can't recall ever seeing as many as 300. It's not my favorite tourney, you get less starting chips than the Tues/Wed nite tourneys (6000 on Sat., 7500 on Tues/Wed) and the structure is just about the same. Saturday does go to 30 min levels later on, but the jumps in the blinds are still too large and it just turns into "shove and pray" poker like all Talking Stick tourneys.
Looks like they might have finally gotten rid of the stupid "Keno" $5 chip addon? It's not mentioned on the structure sheet on the website, they only list the standard $10 "dealer toke". They still might have it, since I recall starting chips were always 6500. With just a single $10 addon, it's a $125+$35 which is (hard to believe) an even worse rake than the $115+$25 Tues/Wed. If the Keno addon is still done, then it becomes an abysmal, laughable, unbeatable $125+$40 (24%). Please, please, please... I beg our inept, idiotic government to bring back online poker with massive fields, standard 10% rake and no need to tip any dealers. sigh

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread
The keno thing isn't a full $5 loss, I actually won $10 on it once.
I make an effort not to tip the dealers if there is a "dealer appreciation" addon

Good luck this weekend. The Fort used to have the best tourney anywhere (IMO), their Saturday Deepstack. Had a great deal of success in that (sick barg) a few years back, was just crushing it week in and week out... but then they switched it to Sunday for some stupid reason which unfortunately conflicted with my weekly golf day and I stopped going. Been playing at CAZ/Talking Stick for two years and it's been nothing but misery and absurd run-bad variance, yawn. Most likely just due to stronger fields with better players... haven't been back to the Fort since but I still miss the place. I see the Deepstack tourney there is now a bounty tournament, so no thanks.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread
Well I can almost see the Fort from our place... so it's tough not to go there for our casino poker fix. There are some good players.. but the average isn't really anything spectacular... I'm thinking that the playing level will be higher at CAZ. I've played a few cash games there but never tried any of their tourneys.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread
Does the Fort ever get their NL games going on Friday or Saturday nights? Haven't been there in a while but it was always hit and miss.

I think blinds were 2-3 and 3-5 if I recall correctly.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread
Almost 400 players in the EOM tournament today.
Apparantly the hours for the food vouchers now expire after 10 days. I think it was 30 days before, not sure when the change was made. Since I rarely play 8 hours in 10 days there lately, I guess no more food vouchers for me.
Maybe it is me but something about the room/staff there seems to annoy me just about every time I go. I work 5 minutes from there, yet I find myself playing the majority of my time at wild horse. With the change in the food vouchers, I can't think of much reason I'll go there at all to play cash games anymore.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread
Yeah, 391 in today's tourney. I was really surprised they had that many players. Paid top 40.
A lot of fun right up until I went out on the f'in bubble. Yep, 41st. I played that hand so so badly. I won't even describe it it was so embarrassingly bad of a play after 5+ hours of good solid play. Holy crap what a maroon.
anyway, a fairly well run tourney and I will likely play again in the future.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread
Wow that's the most runners I ever heard of for a Talking Stick tourney. And I didn't even go play in it so it coulda woulda shoulda been 392. Most likely I woulda bubbled it and you woulda squeaked in Zathras. That's how i run too. LOL Kinda sick of poker right now, hard to find the motivation to go and play when my attitude is so bad. sigh

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread
Chris Cronin is really on a heater this year. Just read he finished 2nd in an event at Harrah's-Ricon near San Diego (220 runners). He even beat Alex Masek, who finished 5th and has just been crushing everything he plays this year it seems. Kinda like Chris is. haha
WTG Chris. Looking forward to another one of your self-promoting write-ups in SWPN.

(I knew this would be deleted from the other thread. Just surprised it didn't earn me a Negreanu-esque ban hammer. lol)
