If you're doing this at 6-9am or 3-6pm, don't take Grand. Otherwise, you're fine. Lots of overpasses and tunnels on that route now.

Or, you can take I-10, I-17 and then cut over at 74 just north of town. 12 miles longer, but avoids Grand.

Or, you can take I-10 out to the West side of town and cut up Loop 303. Also 12 miles longer, but avoids Grand.

Try searching Google Maps for "Ahwatukee, AZ to Wickenburg, AZ" to see your options.
This is Carefree Highway? It's the way I go. I took Grand once. I must have hit 50 traffic lights.

BTW, I-40 to Kingman is heavily patrolled and the cops have NO sense of humor.

I'm not sure if I have had less than or greater than 50% of my posts in the B&M CAZ thread deleted by Rapini.

Yeah, the Glendale/Sun City thing on US60 is worse than going out from DC on Route 50 at least the couple of times I've done it.

The I-40 from Flagstaff would have been a last desperate choice. At least for those 20 miles from 93 to Kingman that highway is in the worst shape in terms of repair of any US interstate I've ever seen.

I'm definitely trying the I-17 to "Carefree highway" the next time.

Sounds like the right strategy. What did they delete this time? If it was the "lol" at my idea for taking I-17 to Flagstaff that was probably a good response.

You've never been through Oklahoma then...

That's the way we always go.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread

I haven't driven through Oklahoma in a long time, must be at least 10 years. And I-40 was in unremarkable shape in those days, but sounds like that's no longer true. I guess that change in status applies to a lot of our national infrastructure.

You're fortunate to have never driven through Detroit.

Also, the highway I take to work every day has been in a state of repair in one part or another for over 20 years, but it's not an Interstate.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread

Not sure if its just me but I have noticed the 2/3 game after 3:30pm playing much bigger than it did this spring... it seems people have no issues with re-buying max 3 times...

I think this is what we were hoping the 2/3 would be when they changed the levels... So far so good!

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread

probably a terrible place to post this, but i am having no success in the Tucson thread. If anyone is heading up to CAZ this weekend for the tournament from Tucson or very close surroudning area and need a ride/split gas please PM me. I am trying to find someone from Tucson that i can do some car pooling with to save on gas. so tilting to drive home from CAZ after a losing session with the added notion i am out an additional 50$ in gas.

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread

Is it less tilting to bust out and be sick of poker, ready to go home, and the guy you gave a ride to lasts 4 more hours in the tournament?

Re: Casino Arizona Regulars Thread

220 is likely a decent line

Edit: I posted that without stepping foot inside the casino today or talking/texting with anyone there. (was up north for the day)

How did I do?
