Can you Balance Life and Poker?
I cannot balance, but is there anyone out there can play poker daily and still balance life? For example, go to the gym, hangout with friends, work(if any), and socialize etc...

Re: Can you Balance Life and Poker?
if you are perfessional and want a long career it is absolutely necessary to balance pokerz and life. Any one who sez otherwise has not been doing it a long time or will not last

Just because you walk into a poker room doesn't mean you have to get dragged out. Do you have problems going to the gym and staying so long you lose your job and piss off your spouse? If so, you have a workout addiction and should seek professional help.

Re: Can you Balance Life and Poker?
play less often... balance.
I only play 2-4 days a week at most, this means I can still take the dog for a walk, clean the bathroom and go to the movies.

yes, you can balance both, whatever works for you, everyone is different. you cant just think and play poker all the time. you'll get burnt out, highly stressed. thats why the best players have great balance. poker provides financial freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want.
play you're own hours. be you're own boss, must have other hobbies.

Re: Can you Balance Life and Poker?
This is a question of anyone with a busy life.
I'm a slacker. I have awful first-world problems with fitting everything I want into my life (work, family, friends, poker, a dozen other hobbies) and then finding time to take care of myself the right way -- but it's not a poker problem.
Disciplined successful people identify the things that are important for them and then make time for them, even when it's not easy to do so. For a lot of us, taking care of ourselves (exercise and diet, continuing education, doctor and dentist) takes a back-seat to a lot of things that come easier.
Ultimately, successful people have structure and balance in their lives. Sure, some people are born with it, but for the rest of us, there's Maybelline.

Re: Can you Balance Life and Poker?
Depends what your intentions are, if you want to be the greatest poker player to ever live then nothing else should matter to you, if you do it for fun and can't balance it with life then poker is not the best recreational activity for you, you're better off doing adult kickball leagues lol.

good post! however, poker could become an addiction and make you blind even, if you are a succesful person IMO.
