Re: Best needle you've ever heard? Live, TV, or online.
About four years ago, I arrive at casino about 7:30 AM; only table open is 1/2. I sit down, and a very nice, quiet, elderly gentleman is seated to my left. He's been there all night and has built up his stack to about $1000.
A few minutes later, a kid shows up and sits down opposite us, dressed in full internet regalia: hoodie, FTP hat, earphones, sunglasses and (I swear this is true) carrying a poker book. (I wish I could remember which one.) Kid buys in for the minimum, and displays considerable attitude, while stacking off with garbage vs the gentleman to my left. He repeats this twice more, each time berating the winner for his "clueless" play, and rebuying. Winning gentleman doesn't respond.
Finally, kid blows his fourth buyin (in less than an hour!) the same way, and picks up.
As he starts to leave, elderly gentleman looks up and says, "Well, there goes Mr. Poker...."

"I played it like a set, I played it like a set."
"You gotta lay them down against me."
"I played it like a set."
"Now thats a big heart, even I thought I had set."
"Ask Jani, hes a pro, HE THOUGHT I HAD A SET!"
"You gotta fold hands baby."
"I played it like a set."
"I had a set."

At argosy indiana before it was named hollywood, a disabled guy in a wheelchair got bluffed out of a big pot and one of the players said " I think you lost your heart when you lost your legs".

At a WSOP Circuit Event at Caesar's in 2008, I think, I got to witness this gem.
It was a pretty hyperaggressive table, with a lot of chips on it, and there was a young hot shot type player who was splashing around a lot and kept getting snapped off. At one point, there was an older guy (mid 60s maybe) who was playing really tight, and had gotten tired of taking his crap, and started needling the kid. Shortly before the kid busted, the older guy snaps him off, and yells at him, "Why don't you go put that on your Twitter?" Everyone at the table started dying laughing, and the kid was kind of amused, but didn't know if the old guy actually knew what he was saying (since Twitter wasn't as popular then as it is now). After the kid busts, he was still genuinely confused about what the guy meant, and kind of sulked off feeling really insulted. Shortly after, I asked the older guy if he knew what Twitter was, and he told me his daughter or niece had told him about it. More laughs ensued.

That isn't a "needle", that is just needlessly douchey . . . a good needle has some humour to go along with the sting.

I don't know, maybe I'm in the minority here but "kinda dirty" is an understatement. Actually it was a total douche move by Tony G. As much as we can't stand Phil at times, Tony was a out of line especially at the end.
Also, I can't wait for the word epic to fade out of popularity....

Seems like Americans dont really learn to respect the elder.
You may think those are good and hilarious needles, but its nth more than classless douchebaggery.
Honestly, I feel ashamed by only reading this crap...
Re: Best needle you've ever heard? Live, TV, or online.
Ive heard a lot of needles. This one happened to me by the guy that mentored me in this business when I was young.
Playing in a 10-20 limit HE game back home before I moved out here. Im up about 1500. Over the course of 4 hours I lose the whole 1500 back (Most of it to my mentor). He says to me "There ya go Adam, I knew you would get even"!
This is why I wear a suit for a living and dont play with you guys/gals.
Re: Best needle you've ever heard? Live, TV, or online.
Final table of a live $60 tournament, 9-handed. I'm in seat 6, I end up all-in against a good-looking woman with a very revealing shirt in seat 10 (my KK vs. QQ... there's a Q in the window but I flop a K too and eliminate her)
Older man in seat 7 turns to me and says "What did you do that for? Now I have to look at your stupid face!"
I think he was legitimately tilted about me felting his eye-candy because he played pretty aggressively and ended up bubbling.

Agreed, I tend to think that i have been raised in a way to respect my elders (im 25) and have never really had any serious issues with anyone at a table young or old. But aside from the stray punk kid I find it more common for the older generationto have a lack of respect for the younger generation. Just my observation/2 cents.
