Last Man Standing Promotion - May/June 2012

Hi all,

So far, the promotion has been extremely successful.

There were over 2500 players who activated and participated in this promotion, and currently we are down to the top 223!

As a reminder, it is not too late to activate the promotion if you have been meeting the daily requirements on your own. Just log into your player admin, and click on the 'activate promotion' button.

For all of those who are currently participating, don't forget that the week 2, $2,500 LMS Freeroll for all eligible players, is on this Sunday at 16:00 lobby time.

The freeroll can be found in the client at:

Tournament > Scheduled > Special

Best of luck to everyone still participating, I can foresee this being extremely exciting in the coming weeks.

If anyone has any questions, don't hesitate to ask.

Ryan

Re: Last Man Standing Update

There is a freeroll today and I am still missing the invitation to it. But since there is no one registered I am not the only one. Hurry up guys!!! And please could you fix the missing point-problem in the player admin asap?! I always get a heartattack when I see that I did not make the points the last day... and please update the remaining players every day...

Thought I was the only one having the player admin problem, as support replies to me like I'm crazy. Please get this fixed.

Re: Last Man Standing Update

There was an issue with the display of the daily points totals late last week, but the calendar was fixed and everything should be working fine now.

As far as I know, all the daily totals of remaining players is updating correctly too.

I will discuss this with the dev guys in the morning and see if there were any issues.

Ok, great news.

If there are any further issues, let us know and we will take a look.

That being said, I will get the guys to look back and see if there were any other issues over the weekend.

Same over here. I have a red X in the calendar and I am sure I made my 200 points. With updating the remaining players I wanted to say that you should do it here in this thread. I did not find a place in the admin to look it up. If there is one just tell me where.

Re: Last Man Standing Update

Feedback for what it's worth: I think this promotion would be more appealing if it had guaranteed rewards for regular play and longevity rather that bonus cash distributed through freerolls for which people may or may not be available (and not everyone likes NLHE tournaments, I suspect).

I understand that freerolls may be better for you from a traffic perspective, as people are logged in to play the freeroll and more likely to play other games, but on the flip side I would've been more motivated to stay in this if you had just given me $20 for staying in two weeks rather than give $2500 to the 80 people who played the freeroll.

I could be in the minority though, who knows. Best of luck to those still in the running. I was unlikely to outlast you playing nothing but draw games anyway (:

I have asked the guys here to look into the calendar right away to see why the points arent tracking again. I'm sure they will be able to resolve it quickly.

The remaining players total is located on the tab at the top of the calendar on your Last Man Standing player admin page.

We designed the Freerolls to give all players an equitable chance of earning some cash out of this promotion, even if they may not be able to last down to 'cash' in the promotion as one of the last 50 standing.

Yes, I understand that--I'm just saying it would be even more equitable to give a flat bonus to everyone still in at a given point, whether it's some fixed amount like $10 or divided up from a pool (so $2500/220 or however many people were still in on Sunday). I knew from the beginning that I couldn't compete with Ether-level folks to stay in until the last 50, but it would have been nice to have a guaranteed reward for participating in the promotion rather than require cashing in the freeroll. I can see why your way might make more business sense, though.

A guaranteed reward defeats the whole spirit of the competition. By playing enough to stay in the King of The Hill we already had an 80 person 2500$ freeroll with 800$ to first thats awesome. Rakeback players while slowed down a bit still earn a ton of rakeback by playing and the VIP players get a ton of points which can be turned into cash. The incentives to participate were the freerolls and the top 50 spots. That was incentive enough to get 2k people in. I enjoy this promotion although like you I may not be able to compete with ether folks towards the end but these kind of promotions end up benefiting them the most anyway. I enjoyed this promotion and while I am still in it I cant wait for the next one hopefully while I am at higher stakes.

I was definitely erring on this side of the fence when we created the structure including the freeroll aspect. We knew we wanted to offer some added value to players who had less chance of making the top50, and while I can see Gammoner's point of view, I still think that the freerolls were the way to go.
