Re: Holdem Manager & Poker Tracker / Merge 6.0 Compatibility Thread - Update Post #4

I see a lot of complaints / problems with PT3 and the new merge client, but if the HH's do not upload to PT3 now, will they do it in the next update from them? or will i basically lose the tournaments i play now and not be able to add them to tracked tournys?

I think they said that they upload the link here today: http://forums.holdemmanager.com/gene...uncements.html

Hopefully, this doesn't take too long...

PT3's newest beta update has support ("introductory support") for the new Merge format. However, there is/was a bug in Merge's hand histories (from what I've heard, your initial chip stack at the beginning of each hand wasn't updating). Not sure if it's been fixed now, but even once it gets fixed, I don't see the hand histories played during this period being able to be retroactively fixed, so they'll never show up correct in PT3. They might surprise me, but I wouldn't count on any tournaments being played during the buggy period to ever be non-buggy.

but would the overall results still be the same? hmm tbh i guess i could manually adjust results, the actual hands and chip amounts do not worry me much, but the finsihing place is what i would want so if i was to play 10 tournys would want to see how many 1st 3rds and 5th etc, but as i mentioned, i guess i could adjust winnings and finish place myself.

I would think final results for tournament would be fine (if I've heard correctly what the bug is), but don't know for sure.

Edit: This is assuming you're not on Mac. Mac isn't/wasn't getting any hand histories at all, I don't think

I use mac and play cash. The HHs don't save at all. I have HH enabled on the client and it is supposed to save the correct folder, nothing shows up.

According to PT rep in another thread, this is a Merge software issue that will need to be addressed in the next upgrade patch that they said should be released in 2-3 days.

Just tried out a few SnG's, btw. 3.13.6 beta on Windows 7. The tournaments themselves were grabbed, but nothing at all about the tournaments (finishing positions, buyin, prizes, table type) was gathered, except for the names of the players involved. You'd have to manually enter results for now.
Edit: Also, no HUD. Someone else said HUD was working?
Edit #2: And as I stated/conjectured earlier, chip stacks are incorrect on all hands, which is a Merge problem, I believe. Also probably why most of the info about the tournaments isn't being grabbed correctly.

Ye i downloaded the PT4 beta also to try it all out and had no hud, no results / table type etc as u mentioned.

I have noticed if someone in the hand overstacks the allin, eg they 1500 u 1300 or vice versa, it is not counting the hand for some reason.

It's probably related to the initial chip stack problem. If you shove 2,000 chips, and the hand history says you started the hand with 1,500 chips, PT is going to have a problem. Merge should hopefully have the problem fixed soon.

I have HEM2. I can get the HUD to work, but i have to manually add it to each table through Table Finder. Does it work on its' own yet? Thanks

I can get the HUD working on PT3 on a Mac as well after the recent Merge patch was released. However, the HH's are still reading wrong so my numbers on PT3 are wrong. Shows that I lost like $8-$9 for the session I just finished where I actually won $24.

In cash games the non-showdown winnings aren't being reported correctly. Basically I have no positive non-showdown hands

Yeah, at this point I don't care if my stats show I'm a losing player on PT3 or PTR, as long as my bankroll in the cashier keeps climbing.
