In fact it is to their advantage to have everybody equal and constantly trading $$$ since that means eventually all the money go towards rake rather than fish busting and never depositting again.
The entire Merge Network doesn't have this tool correct, but let's say this spikes attention at Carbon.. Other sites are going to implement this. It's great for the site, but horrible for the players. This will either make a player decide to get better once he sees how much he's lost in the past year.. or he will just quit because he's bad. If he gets good, then the site will become a rake fest because everyone will be trading money. The regs you talked to Chris were morons. It's obviously the correct decision for the site.. I don't know how this will work out in the long run.. If there were other options, I would stop playing here ASAP because the fish will now become tag regs.

It may just be a tool, but they will google "VPIP" or "PFR" and look up normal numbers.. This will eventually lead them to becoming a better player. Bad for attracting new players because the site will become difficult to beat.. good for the site because a lot of rake.. bad eventually because when it becomes a reg fest you'll lose those regs and new regs/fish.

This tool may not make them a great player, but it will make them a better player than they currently are or they will no longer be a poker player when they see they lose so much money. The 40/2 will google "VPIP" and become a 15/13.. and if not, they may tighten up a little.. then they lose the big quality of being a fish and that's looseness and passiveness.

Out of protest, I am no longer playing at Carbon.

As kahntrutahn says, the negative reactions to this feature are greatly over exaggerated.

Sure, some players that stumble upon this tool may decide to use it for all it is worth, and it may help better their game to a certain degree, but the majority of players will just use it for the hand replayer and novelty factor.

IF a player had the desire or inclination to delve deep enough into their game to improve to the levels of the better players (like you are concerned about), it would have already happened, and I am almost certain that this tool will not be the catalyst for that amount of change.

This tool is more aimed towards our reg players that already use software of this nature. The benefit for them to change to this software is that there should be less compatibility issues than other programs may cause.

Either way, whilst I can understand the contention from the weaker reg players, I think it is definitely an over reaction.

I am happy to continue to answer any questions you have on the product, but posts that are simply rude, or defamatory will be removed.

Instead of adding in things that reduce everyones edge, thus reducing the incentive to play on your network, thus reducing the rake generated, try putting your software team to work on things that will help your site...Like the rebuy/add-on issue. And the inconsistency in tournament structures.

This is all such BS. I'm sure that all of you guys were stellar players from the moment you sat down at the table. That your game never had to evolve and you never used any tool like the one Carbon has given us. You started on top and never left. Now that the playing field is level, you've lost confidence in your game perhaps. Or you're afraid the holes in your game will exploited or maybe you're just ticked off because you had to pay for the software you use.

The only viable solution obviously, is to shut down 2+2.

We all understand that some players like this idea, and others don't. Please try to restrict all posts in this thread to constructive feedback or questions on the product itself.

Am I right in understanding this more than a HUD and allows players to datamine?

What is the merge policy on datamining?

I just noticed that Pokerstars is making a similar offer, which I was not aware of until just now.
