Can you work with the guy who writes MergeKeys (ie send him an advance copy and give him whatever support he needs) so that all the multi-tablers on your site can use the new software? No point in releasing 6.0 and find out that most of your high volume players can't play because Mergekeys won't work. FWIW, I am Ether+ and I will be putting in volume on Revolution if MergeKeys doesn't work. ;-)

You may also open it up to the guys who also write HEM2, PT3, StackandTile, KeyPoker, TableScan, etc too. Not sure if there are any other people writing third party software for your site.

FWIW Stars won't do this for TableNinja (and most clients dont do it for HM/PT) so don't hold your breath. It is not the responsibility of the client to make sure their 3rd party developer's programs will work.

Of course I do.

I am just telling you how it is being on the front lines of a 3rd party software vendor.

We occasionally get a complimentary notice of upcoming changes but that is the exception and not the norm. We usually have to beg and plead for this sort of advanced notice.

CarbonChris seems like a really good guy, and Merge's incompetence is out of his hands no matter how well he does his own job as a rep. Which is why I feel bad when I say that this upgrade is downright pitiful. The major issues that players have been asking for have been completely ignored, and others that have been overlooked, such as the ridiculously large opaque pop up that blocks your screen when you go to make a note, have also been left untouched. The time frame is also just unbelievable. I am not a programmer, but one of my best friends is, and when I showed him the program and this thread he was stunned, according to him there's no way it should take this long with even a small team.

If I were in charge of Merge, I would fire the entire department.

ok I'll admit the part 3 makes me a bit less angry ^_^ Still after so long there should be more features added, here's to hoping for lots of bug fixes.

Btw Chris I hope you don't think my anger is at all directed towards you! You've never been anything, but kind and helpful. The idiocy of the programming team and whatever dolt keeps tabs on them is obv out of your hands

The release for the new, major software update is now officially slated for Tuesday, June 5th.

More information will be released as it becomes available.

Yep, this is the goal date as far as we know at this time.

I was a little hesitant to post it up right away until I was able to get some extra confirmation, but it seems pretty solid as a release date right now.

Also, please understand that the features we have outlined in this thread are not the 'be all and end all' of what is being released.

We have taken a number of the more prominent updates and put a spotlight on them here. While we appreciate that there are some glaring omissions from this update (rebuy issue), I think the majority of players will be extremely happy with the final release.

I would ask everyone to reserve judgement until after the new client has been released, and everyone has some time to really get a feel for what has changed, what you like, what you dislike and what you wish was added. Then, we can start compiling a list of feedback and suggestions for the development team to begin working on to improve it even further.

Really excited... I want for merge to succeed, but the Merge team needs to treat the players better.. This is a great first step. When I see a company spending money on something that doesn't directly make them any money(it will by bringing more people to the site, but its an indirect investment in the improvement of the site as a whole) it really makes me think things might finally turn around. I hope I'm right!

The update is scheduled for Tuesday. Great! I think everyone needs to relax. The current software is miles ahead of Revolution or anywhere else Americans can play. I'm sure the updates will make it even better. IMO, the most important part of the update is what Ryan posted earlier. The new software is designed to give the programmers the ability to make more frequent updates. This is huge and probably the most important part of the update. Now we know suggestions can be updated on a more consistent basis.

Thanks for the kind words.....I really am excited and optimistic that this new release should really fulfil a lot of the issues players have been contacting us with feedback on.

I just want to clarify this point further.

While the development of the new client will supposedly allow for a smoother development and implementation cycles, that still does not necessarily guarantee that the development times themselves will increase.

I don't want to be called a liar if the next update isn't pushed live within 3 weeks of 6.0 being released. Hopefully you can appreciate the difference between the two issues.

Will the HandHistory format be the same as 5.0?
