Will these tournaments be replacing current ones or will these all be separate? Like, on the last day will there be the $500 main and the regular $500?

This schedule is completely awful because there are barely anything Omaha Hi-Lo/mixed games. Omaha Hi-lo is far more popular in tournament form than is Omaha Hi-only despite any gossip. A lot of players prefer to play mix-games and Omaha Hi-Lo at reasonable buy-ins, but there are business people at poker companies who are out of touch with what the poker community desires and thus offers NNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Merge is running a 109 plo8 twice a week that breaks the GTD both times, they easily could have a 215 plo8 in the series and do a 20k gtd and break it as well....

Last time they replaced instead of supplemented. Makes sense, really.

I dig the schedule a lot. I think having a $60 main and a $530 main is a good move. $60 might be a stretch for some of the lower stakes players, but it gives them more of a chance to play a "major" than a 215 or so. I was wondering about the Sunday prior to the main event: I noticed there's a $530 and a $60, but there was no $109 to replace the 125K. Is the 125K still going to happen on that day? Maybe make it a maximus event with an increase in guarantee?

Re: CarbonPoker Poker Maximus II Thread - Starts September 6th***Update Post #84***

Schedule looks pretty good to me, especially if some are 6-max.

However, I will say that having the two sunday events as $500'dos seems a bit much. I brought this up in the tournament improvement thread about the weekly 7. It seems that you are pricing out the casual or mid-stakes player, which does not appear to be good business (but you guys have stats and research to back up your choices so...).

Imo, these types of special tournaments should be used to bring in more recreational players. $500 is a bit out of most rec players range, especially with the somewhat difficult process of getting $ on and off. I understand you guys are trying to bring in row players, etc.

However, it seems this buy-in will attract two types of players besides the current regs. 1. Pros living or playing in row who mostly play on established sites and who won't play regularly on Merge based on other options and 2. US pros who play live mostly now, who aren't gonna make online a regular part of their routine.

My suggestion is to price the final main event (keep 1st sunday as $500 if u guys want) to reach a wider base including mid-stakes players (who aren't moving to play online) and rec players. This bolsters your playing base with players more likely to be repeat customers.

In this manner, I say make the final either $215 or (if u want a slightly bigger buy-in than normal) $322 (which some of the bigger ftops used to be).

I know I (as a semi-reg mid to high stakes player) would be much more inclined to pony up the buy-in.

Cheers guys.

I'm really pretty excited about the schedule but I do agree it could use some huge improvements, my suggestion if a micro series is in the works try adding much more mixed games small guarantees. Like a Razz or Stud guarantee, I have seen the one 250 dollar stud guarantee start to grow because it's the only one offered, if you can offer some more micro guarantees especially in a big name series I think it will draw some attention.

Are the listed run times eastern time? The first event just says it runs at 18:00.

Re: CarbonPoker Poker Maximus II Thread - Starts September 6th***Update Post #84***

Is there anyway they will throw in some micro mtts for this series? I feel like a $5.5 rebuy and a few smaller FO's would really make this series solid. I wanna play the $11's - $50s but also want to throw in some lower buy in mtts to reduce my ABI.

Also can I create a new acct at a different skin? I'm currently at overbet and I hate the software appearance.

Hi,

They have told us there is going to be a separate mico series in the not too distant future, but no secured dates to speak of.

Yes, you can definitely change skins. Let me know if you have any questions.
