this is just not true. Today is the 28th day (4th week) I've had my check processing so unless it gets processed, mailed and arrives at my house tmw I will have to disagree.

Also winning the bad beat is good incentive to live longer seeing as you will probably need to make it to 100 or so if you are in your 30s to see most of it

I dont think I've ever dealt with you on any issue before. Are you BBJ winner? Have you spoken to me or Ryan or anyone about that? I'm certainly willing to do what I can, I don't know your screen name though.

1st off I am not an employee or family member of the site. Im just a small stakes grinder living right here in the good ole USA!!!!

I cant even explain what it feels like to win this kind of money on an online poker hand that took less than 30 seconds!!!! I screamed at the top of my lungs to say the least and woke my wife up because it happened around 4 am. Then I was sooooo excited I wasnt able to sleep for almost 2 straight days afterwards. I've told every family member and close friend I know who have all been very excited as well. I was also happy to tell all those nay-sayers that said "you'll never win anything at poker" that I won $167K in one night!!!!

With all that said I am very happy and pleased that Merge offers the Bad Beat Jackpot as I (of course...lol) believe it's a great promo. Anytime I was done with my small stakes tourny grinds and wanted to grind some cash table I would always play the BBJ tables bc honestly why wouldnt you?

Now comes the story of getting the $$$ off Carbon poker which I havent done just yet. Wire transfer is not an option as Ive been told by Merge higher ups even though I wish it was. Honestly I really cant be too specific with the details but what I will say is that Carbon Ryan has worked with me to try to figure out the best option available to me. This option however relies greatly on the people at Merge responding to my requests for withdrawals, which I think as we all know is a very time consuming procedure, with us the customers having to be very patient. I am hoping that they will improve their response times allowing me to withdrawal my funds faster because let's face it, this is life changing money for my wife and I!!! She has been house shopping ever since day 1 and I worry about the amount of time it will take for me to get most of the entire balance off the site. I have thought about swaps but the chances of getting scammed or rolled, and the vigs involved I just really dont think it's worth it.

So there it is, Im just a normal low stakes grinder who binked the biggest score of his life in about 30 seconds and have spent the last few weeks dealing with the aftermath. Please feel free to post any questions you may have for me and I will be more than happy to answer them the best way I can. And Thank you Merge for offering the BBJ!!!!!

cool and good for you but

1. you didnt win until the money is in your hand imo. i think carbons good for it but just a general rule to live by and to that...
2. i wouldnt have told loved ones anything until i have the money in my hands and i had a plan for taxes. i wouldnt want to get hopes up.

cool story and im sure youll get the money but you know.

4 of a KINDBUD,

I would seriously consider going outside our "good ole USA" and opening a bank account and establishing what is needed to be able to get your money. I have a friend who did just that, as he was in a very similar situation.

A bird in the hand...

+1 $250 give or take for a passport and a Greyhound to Canada and back plus a days work doing it for a 167k seems like a no brainer.

Merge higher ups said that even if I was not in the US that a wire transfer of the whole amount was just not an option right now or Id be considering that.

Having moved to Canada to get 6 figs off of Merge and more off Cake, I'd like to tell you, it's not quite that simple. It is possible though.
