Agree with all of this 100%.

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Tournament Improvement Thread -- Update Post #909

Is the player base smaller than it was this time a year ago? It seems like you guys really butchered the guarantees way lower than they should be..like the $60 rebuys with $82 rebuys both have what, 6k guarantees? They had been $8.5k gtd even at the start of last year (feb/march) and were hitting guarantees..don't you think some of these guarantees are just way too low? I'm sure you guys still have a pretty big player pool, as seen by the daily highroller that still manages to get quite a bit of people.

Any plans very soon to start increasing guarantees back to where they "should" be? I would say at least start with getting the 60 and 82 rebuys back to 8.5k at least.

I mentioned this earlier in the Carbon software thread, I believe, there were almost 10K online today and so many of the gtds were still way down. The player base a year ago when Merge was closed to new US accounts wasn't even this big, if I'm not mistaken it was usually only a tiny bit over 8K on Sundays and generally around 7500 on weekdays yet almost all the gtds were bigger.

Before Lock left the $11r at 19:00 had a 6K gtd during the week and a $10K on the weekends yet now it's 3K every day including Sunday. Not many people want to pay $31 or more for a $3K gtd.

If I'm not mistaken 12K was the most players I saw online even on Sundays before the Lock departure and so there were only 2K to 2500 less today yet many if not most gtds are cut in half and many even 1/4 to 1/3 what they were. This makes absolutely no sense and it has to be hurting Merge in trying to get the Lock players to come over to one of the Merge skins, as well as keeping the MTT player pool you have.

If Merge was smart they'd run another MTT series (Poker Maximus type) in a few weeks. That would get most of the Lock players over to Merge and get some new players as well.

The tournament director is continually monitoring traffic and will adjust the guarantees on all the tournaments based on the popularity and amounts of overlay from week to week.

Ryan, I understand that and I know there is need for adjustments due to player volume but some the changes just don't make much common sense. I just think more thought needs to go into setting the guarantees.

I know guarantees are just bait but that bait generally brings in bigger and softer fields.

Hopefully before long things will pick up but some more thought and sense needs to go into this process imo.

While I agree in theory, that 'bait' needs to be offset by the amount of cost that is willing to be accepted by the skins. The guys at Merge need to take this into consideration as well whilst they set the guarantees.

Slap a guarantee on the $11 Horse tourney. $500 at least.

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread

Why are the payouts so bad on most of the tourneys. The daily high roller tonight for instance:

115 entrants

paying 18.....................................

18-13 $375
12-10 $437.50
9 $562.50
8 $750
7 $1000
6 $1250
5 $1500
4 $2000
3 $2500
2 $4525
1 $7500

Theres 4 $250 pay bumps ON THE FINAL TABLE of a $215 tourney. Why is top 2 so heavily weighted you need to fix this.

Its the same thing with the weekly $530 tourney on sundays. It gets about 125-140 runners every week and no matter what pays 7 places. This needs to be fixed also. It turns into a $4k bubble on the final table as well as being able to final table a $500 tourney withover 100 entrants and not cashing... thats just TURRRRRRRRIBLE.

PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE do something about the tourney payouts theyre very bad.

+1

In general the biggest leak of your structures is paying too many people and often giving out way too much for a min payout. It totally ****s the top few spots a lot of the times

Wasn't sure where to post this but with regards to the new 6max super turbo sng's you guys have introduced (which emulate FTP's structure and payout for the most part):

This is a great change/addition, now you guys should roll it out to all buy-in levels. The 65/35 structure is great and (IMO) should be the standard for all 6max sng's (not just super turbo's).

Thanks, glad you're liking it. I think things may hold just for a bit, to test things out, but it's something we'll look at for sure.

Why do you guys eliminate the $11 and $33 daily deepstacks from the MTT schedule on Sundays? This is incredibly tilting.
