Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread
I like the way the chat pop-up works in the normal mode, where a little dialog line comes up next to who said it. Any way to get that into mini-mode?
That way you could keep the chat box minimized unless you actually need to type something back.
Or better yet, make a mini-mode chat. Dialog could pop up when someone makes a comment and you could have a single line/box where you can type stuff in when you want to respond. That way you get rid of the large, space hogging box.

In mini mode, click the chat tab (lower left) and then click the detach button (same as in normal mode).

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread
I had a pretty disturbing experience today in a 5r satty to the 100k. i was heads up with a chip deficit, all in pre flop with A3 against Q7, I flop an ace, it gives me 92% or w/e to win....but the turn comes a Q, and automatically the software gives me 0% (it said win on his side). Lo and behold, the river comes another Q. somehow, the part of the software that calculates the equities knew that I was going to lose the hand before I actually lost the hand. I went back and checked if he caught a flush or anything that i missed but no. my internet doesn't lag at all so it wasn't that either. i am positive of what i saw.
i don't really know anything about rng's, but this was scary. fwiw i've played online poker for years and have never had thoughts or worries that its rigged. however, this sort of makes me think there is something not-so-random about merge's rng. anyone else seen this? explanations?

I have never had that happen in 4+ years on Merge. What were the exact hands and board?
It is possible it was just lagging showing the cards and the % changed at normal speed

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread

Here is a response from our JavaDev:
================
The percentages are calculated as each board card is dealt and sent to the client along with the value of the board card. The issue is purely a perception issue on behalf of the player.
I suspect that the player's PC lagged while animating the turn and river cards which resulted in the percentages for the river being shown on the turn card rather than on the river. This can easily happen if the PC is processing something in the background, even if it is not noticeable in other applications.
================
I hope this doesn't continue for you, but if it does maybe try to close a few of the programs that are running in the background or restarting your computer.

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread
thank you for the response. i was 6 tabling so that could have had something to do with it, but otoh it had never happened before and it that just seemed like a very weird situation for it to happen for the first time. probably purely coincidental, idk. it was just a little unsettling.

Totally reasonable to have been concerned. If you ever have any other questions of concerns, let us know.

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread
1. Somehow highlight when its another players action (instead of just showing "action" in icon box, maybe by showing some type of action timer from the start of thier action, not just the last few seconds.
2. As said before, more filter options, hand replayer and more background color options.
3. Write tournament summaries into the hand history files.
Thanks for the forum!!!

No worries, thanks for the suggestions. Some of these are already being worked on, while others are things that we can look at and consider.
Thanks.

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread
Hi,
It would be nice if we could see player icons in the lobby. It would help table selection.
And please, change the text of the popup that appears after losing a headsup in a tournament. Please say "we are so sorry" instead of "congratulations"
Ok, seeing the icons in the lobby would be more important

Not a huge deal because I know this is a multi-tabler problem and your efforts should be spent attracting casual players, but I feel like I spend half my sessions clicking away popups and clearing dead tables. Maybe a settings check box or something? Or modify the "Bring Active Game to Front" option to override games that are just starting (I don't need new games to come to front until a hand is dealt).

I agree with The Venetian on this, it would be awesome not to have to click through so many pop-ups and click out of tables while grinding sng's.

Re: CarbonPoker.ag Client Improvement Thread
I would LOVE it if you got rid of the BBJ. When I wake up in the morning and see that the BBJ is only like $42K, I just play on other sites all day instead of yours because the extra 50 cent rake just isn't worth it.

Despite this, we actually have a pretty large demand to increase the reach of BBJ. It was up to 100K this week before going off again.

This seems to bring up a chat log to the right of the table, I was thinking of something more similar to the "speech bubbles", which I don't think work in mini mode.
