6.0 Shuffling

I am a winning online poker player. I have logged millions of hands, have taken my coolers and sucked out on people.

Today it is different. I do not know if I'm on some miracle heater and seeing a lot of other heaters, but something does not seem right. I will fetch all hand histories if you guys want me too.

I have got quads three times today. I've gotten 3333 3333 and 5555. That's not what is suspicious tho. I've seen FIVE other people get quads today. three of them which were quad 3s (all getting on the turn).

I've seen the most amazing suck outs. I saw two people flop boats and go rivered by quads.

I've never seen this stuff on ANY poker site, except Carbon poker AFTER the 6.0 update.

Is anyone else seeing hands like this? Or am I just having one of those days I'll never see again.

EDIT: Maybe not rigged, but the odd generators may not be correct.

Re: 6.0 Potentially rigged

While I don't believe it to be rigged, I have seen the amount of bad beats(both ways) go up since the new software update. I don't know the exact hands but it seemed strange to me. I just chalked it up to variance, cause variance is such a dirty little bitch sometimes.

I did see someone river a royal flush the first day the software was in action, but I haven't seen anything odd since then.

Re: 6.0 Potentially rigged

i'm on a HUGE downswing myself, and i've also seen quads A LOT more than i ever saw before. I made quad fives on the flop and got 30 dollars from the Quad Pyramid promotion at Carbon aswell, i also made quad sevens on the flop aswell as more quads indeed, i was even going to consider mailing support for quad sevens on the flop to see if they give anything for that (normally only quad fives).

So to answer your question: YES i very much have seen insane variance since the update.

I'm currently playing all of my pocket pairs and I'm hitting my sets more than 1/7 times. I'm either on a massive heater or it's the software.

This. I have hit an insane amount of sets in the last couple of days. I have also seen a guy get aces twice in a row and get it all in vs AK both times. Not saying its rigged but that is pretty uncommon I think.

Re: 6.0 Potentially rigged

Odds of hitting a set on the flop (including quads or a full house while matching your pocket pair) with a pocket pair is about 1 in 8.5, so over 1 out of 7 hands isn't that much of a heater (unless you have an incredibly large sample size). That's assuming you're only counting flopped sets, and not turned/rivered sets. If you're counting those, it's even less of a heater.

Granted, I haven't played much since the update, but I just checked my numbers -- I've seen the flop 91 times with a pair, and hit a set on the flop 11 times -- almost exactly the expected number.

None of this discussion is really significant without introducing sample size. If you've played 50,000 hands since the update, seeing 8 quads is nothing.

I honestly can't rememeber ever FLOPPING quads before, and it happened twice after update, but yeah can still just be RNG. I just had AQs vs A6o aswell.

Re: 6.0 Potentially rigged

Did they actually change their RNG though? Because surely if they did it would need to be properly tested and stuff, otherwise the new software shouldn't be effecting anything.

if its the same testers as the software ones, we're in trouble. lots of little things were overlooked in the software update...but how much could accidentally go wrong with RNG code, noones seen two of the same card yet?

the RNG is audited by an independent company right?

Yeah, it's all tested and certified by the Kahnawake Gaming Commission. I've got no problem with people still discussing it, though, but if you're gonna do it, you need the quantifiable data to back it up. Just saying "I saw more of xxx than I think should have happened" is a lot less credible than "I've played ### hands, and I've seen xxx happen ### times, which statistics says has a ### percent chance of happening". Heck, you don't even need the last part -- someone else can do it for you.
