So the right way to get setup on Carbon Poker?

Ok so I located the Western Union in my area and have $600 to deposit ready to go. I don't want to miss out on rake back and stuff so here is how I think I should do it. any thoughts and/or more optimal way of doing this? I'm not 100% sure if this is the right way.

1. Make carbon account

2.type in bonus code or whatever to get rake back deal

3. go to WU and ship $600 to carbon (I guess I have to figure out exactly how to do this as well)

4. then get programs like pokertracker and stuff?

5. grind?

So what i'm not sure about is the order of steps 1-3. if i make the account and not deposit right away (as in if i just have play money acess for a while) since i have to go to WU to deposit money, am i not considered a first time depositer anymore and i dont get the 35% bonus or the 100% match back thing? I have been thinking about this for a while so any help will be appreciated.

*because i cant go to WU and deposit money if I dont have an account yet is basically what im trying to say. thanks if you can help!

*I heard that new users do not get "rakeback" anymore but instead get put into the VIP program. (which is that leaf , fire, earth, stuff? ok got it)

*the UPto600 bonus code will work if i do the steps as I mentioned above?

I'm in a similar situation. Wanting to get the full bonus whoring in effect if I decide to risk playing on Merge.

What's the best software for Merge and tournaments? PT or HEM?

Is Carbon the skin to go with?

I have a similar thread (same name) posted in the beginners question thread and there are some very helpful posts there so I think you should check it out for the answers to your question. they may even discuss PT3 and HEM briefly.

Signup for a merge account. (There are many skins available, some have offers more a little extra through affiliates) ((You can have an account at multiple merge skins))

Click deposit, fill in your details

Click cash transfer, it will walk you through steps. (Enter bonus code here)

Go to WU to initiate money transfer

Come home, finalize transaction

Profit (fingers crossed)

As for PT or HEM, there are loads of threads on the topic. It seems right now PT is better than HEM due to the bugs. I prefer HEM myself though.

Re: tracking software
Personally I prefer PT. It is more stable imho. But HEM is also working good on Merge.

Re: Merge skins
Carbon is a good choice and I really like this skin. But I also have accounts on 3 other skins: Lockpoker, Blackchippoker and RPMpoker. Can't say something bad about them. So you can try all and see what you'd like more.
Good luck!
Thanks Awara,

I appreciate all the feedback players have provided here, it really helps players understand the pros and cons of each skin.

Cheers!
