Online bill fell through while waiting in limbo last year. Another has been introduced. This is just the start of a long process but at least it is a start: http://www.cardplayer.com/poker-news...g-online-poker

I agree that multi-state needs to happen at some point to help it take off.

Who plays on Americas Card Room? I am on Ignition right now but I am thinking about trying out ACR. Wondering if anyone has done withdrawals from there and how easy it is and also if there are any HUD's available for ACR. I use DriveHud for Ignition but it's just ok. I would like to find something better and thinking maybe there's something that can be used with ACR that's easier to track/pull stats.

The proposed poker room (Location) in Holland has yet to be 'approved' by the MGCB, so the charities looking to have events there haven't been granted licenses as of yet.

The dates/licenses wont show up on the Millionaire Party Locator until the Location is approved and the licenses have been issued.

I can't say if this is 'cutting it close' or not but I'm sure the charities who probably gave up spots on other calendars are getting itchy. GL

Holdem Manager 2 can be used on ACR.

Thanks for the info, eagerly waiting for news on this room.

King's room still a hot spot on Friday afternoons. We almost had a RxR game going ... but with 3 1-2 games the action was just fine. They also showed 3 tables full for after the break. Returning players have first choice as to where to sit at those 3 tables and then I think they take call-ins for the rest.

No new news on Holland .. Still no dates listed on the Millionaire Party Locator for Ottawa County ... and Holland isn't even listed in the city section to choose from. Not sure if I will get into Woody's this week (busy, busy) for additional information.

Was out of town Thursday so I stopped at Fkeepers instead of playing in GR. 6 or 8 1-2 tables and 2 PLO tables at the peak. 1-2 seemed a bit 'calm' with no real loud conversation. BBJ is approaching $90K so not sure if everyone is just sitting on their hands or not. They have been very busy on Friday and Saturday nights with both cash and tournament play. GL

Are you sure that the room is in Ottawa County? Part of Holland is in Allegan County.

It's Ottawa -- at least if it's still at that location (which I've heard people say poker tables are setup).

No 2-5 at Woody's this week (or last). I think the night charity there only had a game on Monday!! Keep an eye on the Millionaire Party Locator as I think they have a couple of weeks with only 1 charity, so no shut down. They are planing on only having 1 charity a day in the Summer right now .. Things can change.

Nothing on the Locator about Holland room either. Was set to open April 6th I think. I was told that the site was approved. More to come I hope.

Got to King's around 7 and was lucky to sit right down at the third table due to tournament fallout. They started a fourth table later and then the chips were gone.

I went to Westgate around 1100 and got on the only table fairly quick and it lasted until closing.

Firekeepers MSPT schedule starts today. Check out the full list of events that go through almost the end of May .. mainly Friday and Saturday dates until May.

Interesting time for GR poker right now. Need some balance between the rooms, but I think the player pool is shrinking right now too ... and the home games don't help. Not seeing too many new players that stick with the game for more than one or two tries. More to come ... GL

MSPT has been growing exponentially. Very excited. May play in it instead of grinding cash this time. Would be my first big live tourney.

Cash action is on fiya during these. 🤑

King's still crazy on Thursdays .. 'out of chips' by 930 or so and down to 1 table by 1100.

Westgate had 2 7-handed going when I got there at 1130, combined at 1245.

Woody's shifts are struggling .. no 2/5 this week either.

Eastbrook still strong from 400 to 600, hurting Woody's.

Holland to open April 13th? Should hurt King's a little, see what happens .. GL

News that slipped by me ... Westgate will now run from Wed to Sat starting this week. The Sunday game hasn't been starting until later in the day, if at all so they are making a change. Yesterday they didn't get going until 600 PM after opening at 300. They may consider bringing back tournaments as well.

No dates posted for Holland this week ... Not sure whats going on there. GL

answer20 - thanks for recommending Woody's - stopped by there Monday during the day and played some NLH between work and then stopped by later that night to donate 200 for PLO.

Last time I went (a year or so ago) had a different vibe, but this time it was a fun game.

Agree that the player pool is shrinking - I just see same people every week at Eastbrook and Kings.

Glad you could 'fill in' for me .. I've been unable to get much of anywhere the last 3 weeks or so and I'm still playing catch up. Hope to get through all this in April so I can get back into more of a routine.

Start your plans for the 5th Sunday $400 at Firekeepers this month. This is a great 1-day tournament with probably $20K up top. You can chop this one up, but you can't chop up the MSPT that will roll in later in May. GL

I'm having a hard time believing what I just read, but according to Poker News Daily, the current Michigan poker bill says that we can online poker--as long as we're physically in the casino when we play.

In other words, the casinos are too powerful to allow us to play in our own homes.

Seems like the article he sited didn't read anything and grabbed a surprising headline. To quote " In Michigan, a player could place a bet from anywhere inside the state, though that wager would be considered to have been placed at the licensed casino running the site the player is using."

Sounds to me like you don't need to be in the casino but the bet would be "considered" inside the brick and mortar group that was licensed to own the site.

Looks like there were some corrections made to the Crain's article that may have occurred after Poker News latched onto their article. As indicated by both pieces, this will be an uphill battle with various groups popping up depending on how far things may go.

There are people who play online poker in Michigan, just as they do across the country, at a risk they choose to take both from a legal and asset security point of view. They take the time to limit their exposure as best they can. I do wish something could be worked out ... WPT.com, as well as others, would be great to have access to IMO. GL

Exposure is indeed a big deal. I try to keep as little as possible in any one spot in case a site goes down. I have my online bankroll divided between two online sites and a bank account,

The problem, of course it that as you play higher stakes, you have to keep more on a site just to cover your buy-ins on the site for a short time period, and that amount gets bigger if you're multitabling.

There are no easy answers for navigating the mess that is online poker.

Firekeepers was a very good 2/5 game Saturday night. $260 MSPT Satty drew just under 100 entries .. as did the Sunday $240. Don't forget that this Sunday is the Firekeepers 5th Sunday $400 at Noon.

Woody's will be with only one charity per day after this week going forward .. no break.

Westgate is now Wed-Sat

King's had 3 tables going Friday afternoon ... as usual!

Always fun at Eastbrook from 4pm to 6 pm Mon-Wed as well .. enjoy. GL

Woody's is on 1-a-day charity probably going through the Summer.

Eastbrook cash is still hoppin' from 4 to 6 as well .. Mon-Wed .. with 4-5 table tournaments each day.

Assume King's is still 'full' ..

No news on how the Wed-Sat is working at Westgate.

I just don't get out the TJ's at all, not much word on the street about that location either, even while at Eastbrook.

Been to FK the last 3 weeks on Thursday night for 2/5 .. plenty of action and the BBJ carrot is there as well. GL

I think MSPT will be smashing this week. If Thursday goes well they should crack the $200K mark for first. With more tables available there should be more re-entries/late regs ... and another Michigan record.

Casey Carroll is FT today at HPT in Chicago .. steam starts around 130 for us. Jake B, who FT last Fall at this location, got knocked out in the low 20s for $5K. These guys (along with Chris Blik when he can get away) are a formidable tournament 'team'. Spend lots of time talking poker. Casey won this even last Spring .. so he's going for the pseudo back-to-back titles. He's in Seat 1 .. the same seat Jake was in last Fall, but he won from Seat 4 last time ... not that your Seat # matters .. GL

Didn't play much this past week. FK didn't get any 2/5 going on Thursday and the 1/2 was about the worst I've ever been around. This BBJ needs to hit ... everyone is just sitting around waiting for 'qualifiers' and limping with them.

One guy check-called Flop, Turn and River with top/middle set twice!! And then I folded JJ to him when he led out on Flop and Turn with T56Q board ... He showed KK after he flatted my PF raise to 11. This reminds me of how 1/2 play was going at MCC last year when their BBJ was 800K. The Dealers are working harder and the pots are smaller.

Don't get me wrong ... I want to be there when it hits. It's just turning a lot of players into 'card players' instead of 'poker players'. You'd think you could work your way around this, but this just makes it even more likely to get coolered by a set or over-pair than normal. GL
