2/5 at Woody's lasted less than 3 hours last night. 7 handed to start and then a couple of quick bust-outs later we were 5-handed for a bit. After not too much longer I was playing heads up for the last 45 minutes and then the game broke.

Headed up to Westgate since the tables at King's didn't have much money on them. Not anything special but a couple of decent 8-handed tables through 1200 or so and then it dwindled down to 1 table for the last 40 minutes or so.

I had heard that the stacks at WGate were deep on Thursdays but I think all of the locations were down for whatever reason this week so I can't really say too much. The one thing I can say about WGate is that they have excellent dealers and they get tipped above average for around this area IMO.

Not going to Chicago but would love to be there and get some of that loose cash residual from the WSOPc event in Hammond. GL

I know this will likely come across as a dumb question, but let me ask it anyway. Are you saying that $1/$2 no-limit cash games are offered from 5 p.m.-2 a.m. Thursdays-Saturdays and 2 p.m.-2 a.m. on Sundays at this location? If so, are they pretty steady or do they dry up from time to time?

What is the buy-in range for those cash games? $50-$200?

Thanks.

DISCLAIMER: I am not a cash game player and I don't play much attention to them. I have never played cash in my life, only tournaments. I got my information from one of the dealers who has been a reliable source.

That said, I would say it's pretty close to accurate. When I've been there for a tournament, cash games are always running, and some of the players who are knocked out of tournaments go straight to cash games.

I would say that they are less likely to have to two tables of cash going once the tournament starts, as some of the players are playing cash until the tournament starts, then they buy into the tournament.

I have no idea what the buy-in is, sorry. I will get that information and post it later today.

Woody's 2/5 was a great table last night. Basically full from 700 to close with about $7K on the table around Midnight.

I finished ahead but got "coolered" very late by an interesting PF call of $85 by 56 that hit a straight on the Flop. I didn't lose the minimum but I didn't lose the max either!

Don't forget about the $400 at FK on Sunday at Noon. I would arrive by 1115 for sure if you want to be seated by 1200. My guess is that they will have near 300 entries for this event. Each player may re-enter once so some will double up for sure. Cash should be excellent as well. GL

FK $400 was a little down this time at under 230 entries, but still a nice $18K pot for the winner .. who by the way was playing in his first ever tournament!! wowo

There was some discussion that numbers were down since the payouts were pretty slim at the low end of the pay scale the last couple of times this event was held. A min cash this time was a bit more than 2.5x so that's not bad.

The 1/2 cash games were hopping and they had a 2/5 and PLO table as well. Again, I think the action was a little slower than previous $400 Sundays but it could be folks were worn out from MSPT and WSOPc events of October as well.

The next $400 will be January of next year ... assuming they continue them.

FK is also starting evening $80 tournaments on Friday and Saturday nights as well. Please see Bravo or FK website for information. They hired a bunch of new dealers and are trying to figure out how to get all of them some hours now!! GL

Or they were tired from binge watching the WSOPME final table.. I only missed about two hours over the three days.

Well since FT coverage didn't start until 85% of the field was eliminated I don't think it was that but they may have been getting their Halloween chili ready. GL

Great 2/5 action last night at Woody's ... I was a little later than normal but the table has been full of chips 2 weeks in a row with some new players in the mix as well. Hopefully the trend sticks going forward.

BIG NEWS ... King's Room is now opening during the day Thursday to Sunday. I don't know the hours just yet but may head down there today. I see that their break between charities will probably be from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. Hopefully the cash games will thrive even more!! It will be very interesting to see how a Friday afternoon goes since it has been nuts in there from 345 to 600 for quite some time. As always, I will post more information as I see it or receive it. Sounds like the King's 'double shift' weekend went off pretty good. So good that I don't know if Westgate even got a game going on Sunday. That certainly isn't a good thing IMO but folks may have been excited about the first weekend ... AND they offer tournaments, which is a big draw to that location. Both cash and tournament went to closing and there were still chips left at the end ... but not too many. GL

Poker had a good week this week. Woodys was busy all 4 nights and it looks good to continue through the weekend.

Woodys 2/5 started 6 handed but was full after a bit and went through 1200 this week.

In what I'm sure was a charity being stubborn and not wanting to change it's license, King's break will be at 330 today, not 530 as it was last week. By the time anyone reads this it will probably be too late .. sorry .. GL

It would be nice if the rooms could come up with a list for E-mails and texts in such situations. Of course it would be opt-in only, and because of the stupid charity rules, you might even have to have someone not working for the room actually send the information. But we already have that layer of protection with players posting tournament information, so in theory it should work for cases like this.

The ever changing poker scene in WM!!

Woodys and Kings will both be going back to 1 charity until they don't!! Probably until the middle of February next year when tax money starts to pop up.

It looks like King's is not opening up until 600 this week so expect them to be slammed on Friday.

Woodys is closed all this week, both day and night ...

TJ's is on their normal schedule for Fri/Sat/Sun ...

As always, this could drive traffic to Keepers on both Friday and Saturday if players are 'around' to play.

Toledo (and Windsor I think) are having 'black Friday' tournaments if you feel like traveling that far.

Eastbrook had 2 tables almost right away last night with some very good action. The buy ins are never as deep here as Kings or Woodys but the bust outs seem to come just as fast or faster.

I don't post much from home ... so see you all next week!! GL

Bump ... A little late but Woody's is closed this week at night only, day game is up and running until 5:00. Next week is a super good/nice charity during the day .. not that 'any' charity isn't super ...

King's is back to 400 openings this week, but 600 next week as of right now. They may be trying to change that ...

In an interesting item .. Lincoln is set for 200 on Sunday but not Saturday, looks like that is a regular thing for them.

Played at Eastbrook a few times in the last month. Better than expected cash games at 400. Mike runs a good ship over there ... usually a 2nd table by 430 or so with tournaments at 600 I think.

Haven't been out of the county lately. Itching to play MCC again soon. Other than the obvious reason last Saturday I've needed to come up with a reason to head down to Columbus, OH and play there. The thread is always hoppin' and I've heard nothing but good things about the action. Need to come up with a reason for my wife to want to go there ... GL

Is there any good shopping around there? When I say "Kings Room" my wife hears "Tanger Mall."

Nice ... I'm very lucky that my wife is a very shrewd shopper and doesn't really get into the 'going to the mall' thing and end up coming home with things that we really don't need.

The only 'mall' that would be a destination for us would be The Mall of America but I think they took down the roller coaster in there so that would be a big hit to the trip. GL

Eastbrook was like that on Monday also.

I thought they closed at 12:00 because that's when the bowling alley closed. Is that not the case? What happened with the last group?

Last group was allowed to stay until 200, but something happened to 'not' allow that. Westgate has an employee stick around until poker is over to accommodate access to bathrooms ... very nice of them!! GL

In what could be a growing trend ... Woody's owner will be buying pizza for all players who are seated by 545 PM on Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting next week. These types of promo funds must not come out of the rake or be 'written off' by the Supplier per requirements by Michigan and it surely will be watched if they start to pop up at all the rooms.

If you care ... Casey Carrol's poster will be put up on the wall this coming Tuesday as well and supposedly there will be quite a few of the players from 'the wall' at the room that night as well.

I'm not sure how this will be effected when they go back to 1 charity per day at Woodys so you will just have to try and take advantage of it while it's going on. GL

Ended up at Woody's last night at 530. The pizza did flow as promised. If you call ahead they will try to have some made that you like.

In another change ... Woody's is bringing a 2nd dealer into the fold 'automatically' by 1:00 each day so that excess players don't have to wait for the dealer to show up to get the 2nd table started. So far they have had 2 tables going each day this week from what I was told. GL

Best way is to win a big donkament. Also you should be someone that either has/does play in the room, or is buddies with ownership & the people that are already on the wall.

Donkament = MSPT, HPT, WSOPc, WSOP, WPT, EPT (renamed now, Poker Stars Championships) being all poker tours.

Notice the criteria is two-fold ... Not much ever escapes politics.

There is an ex-dealer from Woodys and current player who also could/should be up on the wall as well. He crushed the 2011 Chicago Poker Classic Series with 2 wins and 2 other cashes while being named Player of the Series that year. Although a 'series' hosted by a casino may not be as recognized by some what he accomplished in just one week is very hard to do.

Both he and Casey have other cashes on their poker resume as well to get passed the 'squirrel nut' test.

There was easily over $1M (Thank you Dash) in career poker earnings at the $5-$5 table last night!! so the fact that the games ran past 10:00 was an achievement IMO. GL
