Any LHE higher than 4/8 ever run in Vancouver? Thanks!

I'm a grinder over at Boulevard, so for those who go let me know, maybe we can chat it up about hands and strategy.

I am also playing the WCPC 330 NL and 200 Limit event and the BCPC 1.1k NL event.

IIRC, Edgewater has a 4/8 kill game, I don't know if a bigger one ever runs. I mostly play at River Rock and the only limit game that runs is 2/4.

I hope they will have bigger 5/10 10/25 PLO during the tournament. I recalled there was a 25/50 PLO running in the Rock 2 years ago during BCPC

Based on reports itt , it appears that the small PLO game at edgewater is going strong. I will be staying in Langley for a few days next month, so do cascades or blvd ever spread PLO?

Edgewater going to run mixed games if there is interest, probably 40/80+

New poker guy there MD says he is getting it together.

I saw a 3/6 kill going Friday night at River Rock. No idea if that's usual for the weekends or not.

PLO 200 online grinder from Montreal, planning to move to Vancouver for a year and grind from there, trying to find a poker house, or just a roommate that wants someone to motivate and talk about poker in between grinding session, also like exploring a bit of the city on the week ends. I'm a very serious grinder who is doing 40h a week at the moment with good results, but I'm trying to improve my game a lot. I love talking about hands and the best play possible on each actions, trying to dissect each hands is the best way to learn IMO.

had a quick visit to the vancouver area. played mostly at the edge, but a couple of short sessions at boulevard and cascades too. the plo game at edgewater didn't seem as soft as it was last year with lots of "pros" in town for the BCPC. it played aggressive and pretty deep. lost every big pot i played in that game, which was unfortunate......i couldn't wait to get all my money in with ATccQ8 on KJ8cc. it was fantastic that i got three other people all in too! of course it comes 3o, 8o, to give the pot to JJJ88. ugh. lots of others like that too.

anyway, one thing that again struck me as really bizarre, was that at cascades, hands were required to be tabled when all in and called. why? that rule is to prevent collusion (chip dumping) in tournaments, where it matters to the other players if i intentionally lose chips to a player. who the f cares if i decide to give money to another player in a cash game? how does chip dumping affect anyone in a cash game? the dealer literally forced me to turn my hand over when i called a preflop ship. he had AJ , i had AK, but what does that matter....if he outflops me and wins the pot, i should be entitled to muck my hand without showing. (i did win the hand though)

the boulevard seemed to have really good action -- witnessed some really bad play during my short session. i would return there if i visit again.

anyway, people were generally really nice as expected, i just wish i ran better in the plo game at edge.

Yeah, Cascades has had that rule forever. Not really sure why.

Cascades sucks enough even before you consider that it's in Langley

Did you just move up to Vancouver to grind? Want to explore the city and need directions?

If you want the inside scoop on the best restaurants, local hangouts etc send me a PM.

I'm a local born and raised and know the food scene here very well. As I am Asian and speak Chinese I know the best spots to go.

I also live close to the major casino here so I can advise on logistics, rent, setting up bank accounts, internet, mobile phones...

Or if you want an local's guide just ask any questions and I will be glad to answer.

You could fill in the blanks but yes I meant I know the Chinese restaurants and places. We have suburbs here that are close to 50% Asian. If you want chicken feet or duck tongue I know where to get it.

I'm shipping myself up to BC this weekend. Recs on casinos (Edgewater? River Rock)? I'm mainly a limit hold'em player (are there any limit games up there), but I'm semi-competent at no limit.

Sounds like Edgewater and Boulevard are the places to go... for 1/2NLHE.

Where does Starlight fit into this mix?

Oooooh I disagree - though I never played there on the Friday/Saturday nights where all the drunk trash from Mint and whatever that other **** nightclub was called right round the corner would come in after they were done drinking

Boulevard is noted by most as the hardest to squeeze profit out of.. and yes the edgewater seems to have a neveer ending lineup of drunk goofs pouring in. And edge also runs a 4/8 kill. Sometimes a 8/16lhe.
