They play 1-3 if that makes a difference, and no max buy in

Does anyone have a feel for what the mid-week action is like in Tunica at the $1/$3 NL level? I know they have tournaments every night so I'm sure there has to be a decent amount of players there.

Might be headed that way next month and wont need anything fancy in a hotel room just clean. Is there a big difference in rooms at Gold Strike or Horseshoe? Looks like I can get Gold Strike cheaper but more then happy to pay more for the Shoe if there's a reason too. Thanks.

Thanks for the info. If I do head down during the week, I'll make sure and report back.

Have stayed at Goldstrike 10+ times, awesome value for $59 (+resort fee and tax) on weekdays.

What's the poker rate (and requirements) at the Horseshoe these days? Was looking to attend the WSOPC the last weekend in January and I see the regular room rates are around $230. That won't work.

Anytime there's a big tournament going on they advertise a poker rate of $85 on weekends and I think around $30 on weekdays. I think the poker rate is standard but it's just advertise more when a big tournament this coming to town.

Gold Strike right next door. Nice enough hotel and better rates.

I love Gold Strike, but also not cheap that weekend -- and certainly no poker rate to be had there anymore.

Looks like the rate has gone up:

Welcome to Horseshoe Casino Resort in Tunica, Mississippi! Please enjoy special room rates of $59 midweek and $129 weekend for participants of WSOP Circuit Event. This is for overnight stay in a deluxe room in the Horseshoe Tower on January 18-31, 2017.

When the Shoe had competition from other poker rooms they charged 45/65 but after Harrahs shut down and Goldstrike/Samstown closed their poker rooms Horseshoe said our rooms are more valuable let's raise the price.

I saw a 1/2 PLO game listed as running at the Horseshoe Saturday. Is this a regular weekend game?

100/200 LHE on Bravo at Hollywood right now. Pretty odd. Anyone know what that's about?

What do these 50k Guarantees look like? I see they are doing them semi-regularly. Any idea on how many entrants to expect?

Played at the Horseshoe on Wednesday night. They had two tables 1/3 NL, one of them short handed when I arrived. Out of 8 players (including me), 4 had stacks of $50 or less and rebought for $40 when they busted. No chatter at the table but at least everybody was friendly.

Tunica poker gets sadder every time I travel through. Most players still have no idea what they are doing, but that doesn't really help in a game like that.
