Re: St.Louis, MO Poker Thread

Played at Lumiere fri, sat, and tonight. Harrahs yesterday. Played PLO Friday night till 3ish in the morning. Ended up a mix 1/3 PLO, 2/5 nl. Very fun...good group of gambooolers. 1-3 games have been nice on every occasion.

1/2/5 PLO at Harrahs yesterday was WAY deep by noon. Looked juicy but never got a seat open in 7 hours.... first on list.

Overall....really enjoying games. Will be here through Wed night.

Re: St.Louis, MO Poker Thread

Trying to figure out who are the best NL players in St. Louis; however, I'm bad at remembering names so I'm just giving the best three I can remember:

1) John Adams
2) Kyle
3) Juan

I'd love to see a longer list.

Anyone know if Lumiere will charge for parking over the holiday weekend?

Re: St.Louis, MO Poker Thread

Once my life finally calms down post-wedding I'll be playing with you guys a lot more at Lumiere. Glad to finally live in St. Louis.

Played 1/3NL there on Friday afternoon last week, LOTS of action at 1 p.m. Check out this hand.

Solid LAG regular who normally plays the 5/10NL game on Tuesdays and Thursdays raised to $15 in middle position. Insane idiot who has been open shoving with ATC and building a stack getting lucky shoves all in for $700. Folds around to reg who thinks for about 15 seconds before making the call. Shows AKs, Ace binks on the turn, spewtard's JJ no good. The reg, who was a really nice guy, said afterward that the spewtard just picked the wrong guy to shove against, because that's normally 70bb for him at 5/10NL.

Anyways, insane action. Can't wait to play with you guys more.

Yes, but they'll validate.

My list was a joke. Those were 3 of the regulars that came to mind of who I'd like to have at my table.

Re: St.Louis, MO Poker Thread

There is a guy who wears a High Stakes Poker hat that is pretty good. He was here this sat and sun. He was up about $800 when he left the table. Not bad for 1/3NL. Went to the ballgame tonight and the cards won. Happy 4th everyone.

I tried going to Lumiere on Monday, but they wanted $30 for parking. Someone said they would validate parking, but they collect the money on the way in.

I understand that lots of people might want to park there for other reasons, but shouldn't they try to accommodate a player? I just left and went to Harrah's which is closer to home.

I thought there might be good action from people playing before the ballgame, but it wasn't worth $30 for the privilege of playing there. It seems like Lumiere has managed to turn their good location into a liability.

Re: St.Louis, MO Poker Thread

Lumiere is located downtown near the Arch in St. Louis.
Monday was the 4th of July.
Downtown near the Arch in St. Louis is about the largest 4th of July celebration in the entire country.
Parking was high (but the casino validates for it's customers). Go figure.

What good is validating when you pay on the way in? I said I was there to play and they could have explained if there was a way to get a reduced parking rate. The parking attendant just said $30 or leave. I have the basic players card. A better card could park for $10.

I can understand that it could be a good place to park for other events, but shouldn't they try to accommodate their actual customers?

Re: St.Louis, MO Poker Thread

give them $30. you get it back on the way out. do you not understand what validating means? were you going to put your last $30 on the poker table?

Re: St.Louis, MO Poker Thread

I don't mean to belabor the point, but I don't think Shifty knows how the garage is laid out. There is a manned booth at entry and open gates at exit. There is nobody at exit to give you back the parking fee with a validated ticket.

In any case, there is a clear chance that I don't get that money back. People complain all the time about not being able to beat the rake in 1-2. Add $30 on top and it can only be worse. This is also money I am putting up before I even know if I can get seated at a game.

I left and found a game with no parking fee or overhead and had a nice afternoon. I just didn't play at Lumière. I am very lucky in St. Louis to have lots of rooms from which to choose.

You play. The cage gives you your parking fee back.
