If this is in response to my comments about Jai-Alai, then the answer is both 1/2 & 2/5. Oh, btw, both have uncapped buyins and allow for straddles for any amount from any position.

Yes it was. Very solid. Hialeah allows the live Mississippi straddle for any amount as well.

any rooms usually have decent 1-2 games running more so than others?

By decent I mean playing deeper than 40bb avg stack

or better off just short stacking 2-5

I'm living in Ft Lauderdale as of recently. Looking to play some cards, im in 33301, what are the closests best places to play? I play 1-2 up to 2-5 depending on the game. I'd always be buying in 100bb+ deep and would like to play vs as little short stackers as possible.

PLayed hardrock Seminole tonight and it was soft. some bigger stacks around at 1-2 here and there. but mostly w hen people go up they "have to leave" rather quickly.

If you want to play at a place with less short stacks then I'd suggest the Hardrock. Minimum buy in is 50bb. The other places (miami jai alai) I've seen people buy in as small as $20 at the 1/2 table. It was absolutely ridiculous. Lol. Miami jai alai has some of the softest games I've ever seen, but the short stackers may drive you insane. I prefer the Hardrock

Minimum buyin is $60 actually which is 30bb but I think most people buy for 50bb there you're right at $100.

Isle in Pompano says "smoke free" environment. So, if I want a ciggy, do I step outside near the poker room or do I have to go to my car?

No smoking inside at all. You can go out the back of the poker room and smoke outside. Pretty short trip depending in your table.

Aren't almost all poker rooms smoke free?

The entire casino is smoke-free, as are all the non-Seminole casinos in Florida.

Thanks fellas.

Follow up questions, please. Let's say someone was looking for LHE games.
Calder, Pompano, or somewhere else? $4-$8 to $15-$30 preferred?

Also, how many tables at Calder? I can't find that anywhere. Finally, what's the skinny on Gulfstream?

I'm looking for answers about LHE ring games only.

tia

eta: can someone rank the rooms in order of rock gardens please?

Isle is 10-handed, Seminole Coconut Creek and I think the HHR are 9-handed. Don't know about the rest of them.

Not sure how you saw that given that the minimum buy-in is $50. I played there for 5 hours yesterday afternoon and while a couple of people during the course of the day bought in for $50, there was also someone who bought in for $800. The majority of the initial buy-ins were either $100 or $200. FWIW, I bought in for $300 when the table opened.
