I agree. I live in PB County and regularly took the drive there. I liked the room and the dealers. Have heard it is dead, such a shame. I slog it out in a good private game where I live and am occasional $2/$5 at Pbkc. Action there is still good on the weekends.

I had a bad experience with a likely angleshot/nonstandard rule at the Big Easy Casino in Hallandale Beach - I bet on the river, one player left takes the chips to call in his hand over the line and sets them down, though does not release them. I table my hand, he takes his chips back and says he never called. Floor rules in his favor, saying specifically that even though he moved his chips forward and set them down over the line, neither the line or forward motion is binding, it would only be binding if he released his chips. Lesson learned here, wasn't a huge bet, and maybe could help someone avoid getting angled in the future.

Yeah I don’t pay attention to what these losers do. I just wait until the dealer says the person has called and that their action is complete. I see these types of people every time I play and watch as others fall for their antics. Once the hand is over I will let the player that is obviously unaware or new to the game to watch out for what the player did. I know some players don’t like when other help the new players on some stuff but when it comes to crap like this I will.

Any private game sponsors around? The way I see S FL rooms becoming, more than ever now, the wild west for private games, I bet we could get something really good and regular. Let chat, discuss stake terms, etc. I can bring several good for the game players too.

Isle barely gets a 2/5 more than 3 days a week. 2/5 at Creek can be hit or miss. 3-4 2/5 during the week. Weekends fine but obv not as good as HR

Nobody cares about “winning.” You came in here making a vague claim and I simply asked what information was it that you had. Then you throw out “specific numbers” that weren’t really specific (how do you know 100 players at Mardi Gras tested positive?) and claiming most of the PLO pool is sick since there are now only 1-2 games when actually there had been 4 the previous two days. The bit about “Indians = No masks” is strange also as most at Coconut Creek last week had masks which makes me question further your sources.

If you don’t like vaccines or masks then I don’t blame you at all for not playing poker in South Florida right now. This variant is hard on the unvaccinated as it hits that population much worse than the vaccinated breakthrough cases. PBKC had a young heathy player in the hospital on oxygen for three weeks fortunately he is home now. Be smart, get vaccinated (I mean even DeSantis is pro-vax for this thing) and anyone with specific info please be sure to share as I agree this is a big threat right now.

I see SHR Hollywood has some rather high rake & no free drinks, and while the action is probably decent I am curious if any locals can school me on if there are better rooms in the area (Kennel club, etc etc). No South FL rooms have free alcohol if that's what you're asking. Unless you speak Spanish you will probably want to stick to HR as they will have by far the most games, deeper games to choose from. Hialeah, Magic City allow Spanish to be spoken as it's basically a first language for a lot of the players there. PBKC is a dump and 2/5 is basically the biggest non private game (iirc) they have with only a $500 buyin

Rake is 5+2 everywhere with subtle changes in the take and no free drinks. If you’re in Boca stick to HR or maybe Coco Creek. PBKC is 30-40 min from Boca depending on time of day and overall pretty nasty of a room.

I enjoyed Kennel a few weeks ago. Action was outstanding for 2/5 and the 5/10 game is great (if they let you in). Also, they seem to have a daily PLO8 game which plays pretty massive. Made me wish I had studied split games more. Very fun overall.

It's still really only HR for game selection just gotta be good at selection as games aren't as great as they once were. They have been running some 5 card PLO recently but usually only at 5/5 level.
