I felt this way a while back, but after playing a couple of times i like the action and big pots of 15/30. You can play for free on pokerstars if you'd like to practice the games. Also Saturday nights are usually a packed house, so there wouldn't be room for a lower limit table

The stud games are inexpensive, no blinds just $3 ante. The omaha and 2-7 games can get pricey tho

I visit WA every 2 months or so. And if there was a daily 6/12 mix game. I would play every time I came up.

Just played in the 15/30 Mix game for the second time yesterday. My experience both times was nothing but great. You can tell that the dealers who are new to dealing some of the games in the mix genuinely care about learning the games and the players have been nothing but helpful and supportive in trying to help the game run smoothly. It is amazing to see Fortune legitimately care about the opinions of their players and run new games like this. Fortune is doing business the right way and the results of that are showing with increased traffic. You can tell the management appreciates your business and they don't take it for granted.

I'd support complete removal of PSJ in 1/3, that **** is brutal af. Scaling is a good idea, but would be too difficult to implement without causing a fuss for 4/8 players paying higher rate of PSJ rake comparatively.

Maybe take a player consensus? The games would run longer making it a break even or +EV play for the house, while benefiting grinders.

PSJ is a rip in so many ways. Starts with a 10% admin fee to the casino off the top. Do you trust the casino to distribute the remaining 90%? Or the State to audit and enforce these Trust monies are returned? Think back to.Diamond Lils pocketing $29K PSJ. Washington State did nothing for the players. Its settlement was centered around getting money from Diamond Lils into the State treasury.

PSJ is fools gold for suckers. Vegas poker has it right for the most part in this regard.

...the biggest abuse of PSJ is by Tulalip poker. PSJ monies are dropped on weekends without PSJ payouts- Royal and bad-beats excepted. This is wrong.

If I could choose I'd play 1/3 without PSJ. Having to fold small pairs and maybe even KT of spades before the flop is lame, in regards to opportunities for Monte Carlo, bad beat hands.

That said I still don't have a problem with 3+3, but would like to see that last 1+1 come at maybe $50. So many 3 way pots for $10- $12 preflop, that's six bucks, almost 20% of the pot, and often the final pot size.

Damn. 22 names on the list for the mix game tonight and the late night crew, e.g. me, isn't even on the list. Awesome.

Noob question incoming...what does PSJ stand for?

Also hi Seattle people, my name is Natalie. I'm new, I've been reading 2+2 books and the forums, and starting to play live around the area. Any recommendations on good places for low stakes limit?

Player Supported Jackpot - basically the promotional fund which goes to pay for jackpots, high hand bonuses, etc. This is taken out of pots in addition to the rake; I think at most Seattle area games it is $2-$3 per hand.

By statute PSJ monies are held in a "trust" and does not belong to the "trustee" - the casino or poker room. The monies legally must be paided back to the players. The trustee gets to keep 10% as an administration fee. Poker rooms play loose with the reality behind the PSJ. It aint their money. It is ours.

15/30 omaha lasted from Friday 3pm to Saturday 11pm. Odd that it would die out at Saturday prime time.

Wednesday night Muckleshoot has free comedy shows at club galaxy, 8pm. If you're in the area its worth checking out as they have on decent comedians, a mix of locals and touring jokers. I may check out the show and hope the 15/30 omaha game has openings after. I think its a 90 minute show.

Tulalip also has free comedy nights on Tuesday. By some crazy coincidence the same two comedians will be performing at the lip and the muck Tuesday and Wednesday, Keith Lenart & Kate Brindle. Support local comedy! Also at the lip there $250 1/2 hour high hands, I'm not going but FYI.

Finally made it to Fortune yesterday. I played semi-regularly last year at Muckleshoot (so I'll be using that as a comparison) but got busy with life and such. Here's my take as a rec player.

Got there around 12:30 (Saturday) and was lucky to finding a parking spot. Multiple cars parked in fire lane and in front of dumpsters. As I left around 6:30 cars were circling the lot searching for an open spot.

Walked inside, the room was a bit smaller than I thought it would be and the tables seemed a bit closer together than Muckleshoots. They were starting a new 1/3 as I walked in (3rd 1/3 game), perfect timing.

Chairs were decent enough, the table seemed a bit dirty like it's not cleaned often. I constantly shuffle chips so this may not bother others. USB charger for each seat!!! God does exist. Plenty of tvs to view and the high hand screens were visible from all seats. One of my gripes about Muckleshoot was some seats I had to turn completely around to see HH. Yes, it makes a difference with you flip quads w/out a pocket pair and are trying to decide to shove all in to get the HH while my ****ty kicker still counts.

I didn't try the food, but it at least looked decent. The servers seemed to do their job well but it was non-peak hours. The dealer's were pretty average and we're struggling to deal with some of Fortunes wonky rules (multi-chip rule and no cutting chips over the line when calling???). Overall, they were younger and faster than some of Mucks daytime dealers.

The players were a mix of middle aged regulars, pocket pair asians, and an obnoxious guy quoting poker odds and calling others a drink when he lost. Most of the other players fed off this kid, as it was quite obvious his emotional intelligence wasn't up to par with the others.

I was pretty card dead most of the day until I caught AA twice in my last 10 mins to pull out a winning session vs break even. There was definitely some looser players at the table for the LAGS, I play more of a TAG style which worked out nicely for my single 300 buy-in.

Overall it wasn't a bad experience. My main points/gripes are parking is complete **** and be aware of the couple of odd rules that are specific to Fortune. I did notice a few of the Muckleshoot regulars there, but only ones that were typically wasted seats at the 3/5 game (constantly away from table or play waaay to tight). I'll definitely be back, but if parking is too annoying in the future it would certainly stop me from going.

How do you say the servers were doing fine as it was non peak hours when the parking lot is beyond capacity?

Not as many heavy drinkers during the day, less cars containing multiple people, and the parking lot is quite tiny. As a comparison to Muckleshoot they were quicker to arrive at the table when called, probably because the dealer has to shout for service vs. just pressing a service button on the table. My experience was only a single 6 hour daytime session so there's that.
I mentioned multiple cars circling looking for spots when I left. If it's like any other poker room peak hours are in the evening, but I have no direct evidence to support that claim.

Leading to the legendary final night of the original iteration of Hideaway circa 2002. Closed somewhat abruptly and had to ditch all their jackpot money in essentially one night. Splashed pots for day.

Holy ****

Is $100/$200 2-7 going today as rumored?

In other news;
Just got back from Chinook Winds where a lot of Portland intel came in. The games are thriving including big bet mix games with smaller blind structures at Portland Meadows if you guys get bored and want to drive down. Small door fee, and rake free games still!
