How long does the $45 M-F 11am tournament take to complete? Looks like it's 15-mins per level. Does it finish by 5pm (you know, so I can come home normal work hours and the wife will be none the wiser).
I have played the 7pm $45 many times , which is the same structure. It starts at 7 and is usually done by 10-10:30 pm. You can be home and have dinner waiting.

AJs is stopping the promo as of today. Not sure why they don't do any quads beaten 24x7 until the reserve gets to where they want it

Thanks for the update. No need for me to attempt to visit then on my way out of town. It seemed too good to pass up.

How are people's experiences with Graton? Just moved to the area and looking for a place to play low limit on weeknights. Wondering about how games are there but also the area (safety, parking, etc) since I just moved here and don't know anything about it

Safety and parking were fine. There's valet, an attached garage, and an open parking lot. I went three years ago and the games were a lot of fun. I went back for 3 day trips twice in February and thought they had really gone downhill. Once in a while a bad player stumbles in, but there were mostly regs. And this was playing the weekends.

On the odd chance that I play there, it's a weekday day, so can't speak much to safety, but if I had to guess, it wouldn't be much of an issue. Take usual cautions you would at any casino. Well-lit parking structure close to elevator which spits you out right next to the poker room. The room is on Bravo, which is nice and the info there seems pretty up-to-date. They (in my experience) enforce third man walking, which is also nice.

Best to familiarize yourself with the promotion schedule because you might want to show an uncalled big hand or delay a bathroom break.

I only play limit, which means 4-8 full kill and that game is usually pretty good. There are a lot of regs so you just have to sort out who's lag and who's nitty. Get the player card OFC and I think you get like $1/hr in comps. The room is nice, if a little dark. They don't comp alcohol because California.

I played once when it first opened, nice room, covered parking, decent food. Probably safer than urban casinos (LC, AJs, Oaks, Bay, M8trix) but obviously never let your guard down because money attracts attention.

Starting Wednesday, 5/17, there will be a mini-jackpot with AAAJJ beaten for $10k (5000 loser, 2500 winner, 2500 split among dealt-in players at table) from 1p-5p every day.

I'm going to go out on a limb and assume that if you get 8888 or better beaten during this time period, it will still count as the full jackpot (100k, same breakdown).

The jackpot reserve was closing in on 1.02M, so the mini jackpot reserve is now 190k and the main jackpot reserve is 820-something.

Looking for recommendations for a place near Tracy that might have regular 3-6 limits games. Will be there for a few seeks and if I can get away and have a little time might be fun to try someplace new.

Livermore has a room. Dunno if it has 3/6 but wouldn't be surprised because it's a small room.

A Google search for "tracy casino" (specifying Tracy, CA is apparently unnecessary) brings up Stars Casino and the Shamrock Card Room, both in Tracy, as well as the Livermore Casino and Parkway Casino 580 in Livermore, as well as 2-3 in Stockton.

I don't know which of those have LHE but it seems like the quickest way to answer your question is to call the poker rooms and ask.

AJs continues to shrink their room. A while back, two tables were removed in favor of BJ, now one more gone in favor of PG

AJ is awful in just about every way. I hope a meteor hits the place to put it out of it's misery.

They have about $1.2 million in player funds waiting to be redistributed, so hopefully the meteor holds off for a while.

Well that obviously depends on what you think makes for a good dealer. This example fits my criteria:

Bay 101 true story from a couple of weeks ago:

Obnoxious drunk guy "M" in seat 5 loses a pot, and throws his cards at the dealer. Dealer says, "M, please don't throw the cards at me.".

A few hands later, M loses another pot and throws his cards at the dealer. Dealer says "I told you M not to throw the cards. I'm not going to tell you again."

A few hands later, you guessed it -- M folds his cards on the flop and throws his cards at the dealer. The dealer carefully and quietly puts down the stub (the hand is still being played), stands up, and punches M in the face. M falls back in his chair and onto the floor!

Dealer says...

Spoiler:
Action's on you sir!

OK, I admit I made up the spoiler, but the rest of the story is true.

And you are correct he no longer works at Bay 101, not sure where he is now.
