I'm very interested in getting a regular PLO game going in the Bay Area. I know it was going off and on at Lucky Chances. I called and they said they would spread it whenever.

Let's a roll call going for who would be willing to join a regular game on Sat nights starting at 6pm. I'll be first.

Any info on when that was? Can we get a regular time/day set up?

I'd be willing to play it 1-2 with say $300max buy-in, but whenever I try to start that kind of game it always gets jacked to 3-5 w/no max, which I can't even pretend to afford.

So if you can start it & keep it 1-2, and run it most every Saturday, I'm down to play.

it was a full game saturday at midnight, and tuesday (or maybe it was thursday?) around 7 or 8 pm.

I only played on saturday, and stayed until it broke after 3 hours. On the weekdayi heard it was shorthanded and didnt go too long.

Also, they play it $200 max buyin, and about half the dealers i saw deal it were not adept at dealing pot limit.

I kind of doubt it has much of a future. I'd much rather see a half 1-2 PLO/3-5 NL mix game with the $500 max buyin structure. Might have a better shot at getting that going.

also, Napa is nice.

O8 was running last night, as was 15/30, 6/12 and I didn't pay attention to the no limit games. Not bad for a monday night

Occasionally play the 2-2-3 and 2-3-5 NL at the Grand.
Nice, clean, well run room with lots of FL and NL action. However there are a few odd casino rules:
Despite the 3 blinds you cannot buy in for 100x BB.
If you buy in for $200 in the 2-2-3 game you cannot rebuy until you are under $100 and then for only $100 tops.
Less important, but silly is that you cannot sit with your chair turn backwards.

If you play NL there remember most players believe that TP is the nuts, even to are RR.

The tournaments seem to be NL but not cash games.

Has anyone ever played the sunday NL tournament at the Oaks?
The 101 in Petaluma plays fairly deep NL imo.

AJ's has a 1/2/2/5* no-limit game that runs pretty much all the time. There's also a 15/30 LHE, but I don't know how often it runs.

* $1 button blind, $2 small blind, $2 big blind, minimum $5 to open. Any player (except the button?) can kill it for $5, making it $10 to open.

Lucky Chances isn't too far from SFO. Bit of a drive, but one of my favorite places to play at.

Any word on a poker room at the M8trix casino being built across the freeway from Bay 101?

Drivers along Highway 101 in San Jose have probably noticed a multi-floor steal structure going up near the San Jose airport.

If you've been like us and wondered what that was going to be, here is your answer:

It will be a $100 million hotel and casino called M8trix. It's not quite Las Vegas, but the venue promises to be the glitziest thing San Jose has in the gaming arena.
ROFL, Freudian slip there.

That article states they are going to open by New Years, but from everything I've heard they are shooting for Chinese New Year not Jan 1.

Anyone know the full story of the cheating that went on at Garden City recently? They have a new rule where you can't have cellphones on the table or do any texting because people were caught cheating. Were they telling each other their hole cards? Did this happen in a tourney or a cash game? What happened to the cheaters - banned for 24hrs, week, month, life?

Wow! Thanks for giving us the heads up on the new rule. Bay 101 is looking better and better.

Looking better for cheaters?

The rule was put in because someone was apparently caught cheating.

Not even that could make Bay 101 look better.

Garden City has the best floors/dealers/waitresses in the city. Can't put the blame on them just because a couple of degenerate scum bags were cheating. Good they put this rule in (if not a little late).
