1 hour each way + wait lists make these options bad if he has only 3-4 hrs to play.

Lucky Chances isn't as far south as M8trix/Bay101, but it is still south.
It's far but it's off 280 and to head over the Golden Gate bridge from dowbtown you may choose to circle around that way anyway. It's like southwest of downtown whereas the GGB is northwest.

Graton would seem to fit his requirement the best.

Note: Assuming by "north" he means up 101. If he means up to the Chico/Redding area, then a place like the Oaks comes into play.
Also Cal Grand, which is off 680 (connects to 80 to the north), as well as Napa Valley Casino, which is off 29.

Graton is the nicest by far, and they have a big NL game occasionally, but it seems to be much busier on the weekends than weekdays. The most reliable poker for a short stopover is probably the Oaks or Cal Grand.

Graton or Oaks (Bay Bridge to Emeryville and Oaks, then Richmond/San Rafael Bridge over to 101 after your session -- not that much additional miles).

Oaks, then Graton.

Last time I was there was probably 4-5 years ago. At that time they had two small limit tables (no NL games) shoved into a corner in the back of the casino surrounded by a pit/table games. Was fairly depressing/smoky.

Artichoke Joe's changed out their chips this week. No notice yet as to when the old ones will no longer be valid, but on the odd chance someone reading this is sitting on some high-denomination chips, get 'em traded in!

Kind of odd design...they're celebrating their 100th anniversary, but the motif is psychedelic 60s (like if they were celebrating their 50th anniversary)

I don't have any AJs chips but I think it's good that people report stuff like this in this thread.

Thanks!

luckys has a coat/bag room, have to store even a backpack there. oaks has a check as well, though at oaks you could probably have your bag next to you they probably wouldn't care

Well, it is not. If you remove the "t", it will pronounce like "May-rix".

You pronounce the number 8 as "ay"?

With no T sound?

You started an account to make that comment?

Any LHE regs browsing this thread want to bull**** about live poker sometime? I mostly play the 6/12 and 20/40 at AJs afternoons. Send me a PM.

Hi,

Could anyone provide an update of 10/20-20/40 LHE games offered in the Bay Area on weekends? Thanks much

I'm not really in the area, but pretty sure they still have 15/30 at Oaks, Artichoke Joe's, and California Grand, and 20/40 at Bay 101. Not sure about AJ's because it has been a long time since I've been there, and it's not mentioned here as much, but the other 3 are all very regular, going at least most days.

What rob said, plus Bay has 8/16 with a half kill, which is 10/20 like.

The big game at Artichoke is 20-40. There is nothing between that and 6-12.
