We have a good semi-large PLO game at Palomar most days and a small one at oceans Tuesday and Friday
Thanks for the info. I would check out Palomar or Oceans except I'm going with the Mrs. who only plays video poker.

Yeah so I probably prefer to go to vegas rather than to pay 5$ per hand playing low limit. Anyways, I was trying to find transportation other then a car or flight for 150$+ return. Anyone that knows about busses etc? I found greyhound for 35$ which is cheap enough but then it goes via LA and takes 12h which is not that nice.

Thanks
I was in SD like 6 weeks ago and went to Barona. This was on a Friday during the day (around 2pm ish?) and they had a 1/3NL table going ($300 buyin I believe), and 2 3/6 or 4/8 tables going.

Around 3ish they opened a 1/2NL table which is $100 max but the action was pretty good. It looked like around 5pm they were getting a 2/5NL game going (not sure on buyin). Lots of regs but they weren't that strong.

I got back from San Diego on Saturday. Played at Barona Sunday night, they had a number of tables running many of which broke once the football game ended and the splash the pot promo did too. Played 1-2 ($100 max) until I got a seat in 1-3 ($400 max). Play was even worse than what I was used to, so that was good. Room was ok, chairs were cushioned and had wheels which is nice.

Played Sycuan, Monday night only two tables going both 1-2 ($200 max). Place is a dump although the poker room is ok. Play still horrible which is nice.

Played at Pala two nights, casino itself is very nice, room is ok but not a lot of action. Played 1-2 ($200 max) the first night and 2-3 ($500 max) the second night. The 2-3 game was very good with a few big stacks $1,000+ when I sat down only one of whom was any good.

Hey again guys. So I got some cash and found out how to get to oceans11 without a car and thought I would visit the casino soon, hope to play 8/16 - 20/40 FL or omaha hi/lo or perhaps 1/2$ to 2/3$ PLO. Just thought to ask what of these games are running now and if there is a certain day that is better than the others?

the 8/16 lhe/o8 mix game has been going daily for a few months and is always good. 2/5 plo runs on tuesdays and fridays. 8/16 lhe runs daily as well. don't know about 20/40 lhe.

For those of you who do the tournament thing, Pala is doing an "Iron Man" tourney in Jan that should be decent.

Saturday, January 11th 10am, $235 buy-in, $20,000 Guarantee

40-min levels, No breaks and no chop. 20,000 starting stack, Optional bonus buy for an additional 5,000 in chips, Re-entries for 6 levels

No idea what the turnout will be, so many recreational players in north county that think anything over 100 bucks is too expensive, but who knows. No breaks should be funny...at least the bathrooms are close by

Can anyone give me an idea what to expect at Oceans 11 for a Saturday afternoon? Was going to go this sat and play the 10 am tourney and then some cash. Worried it'll be a ghost town or a lot of nit regs.

Coming into town this next weekend, probably going to play around Sunday the 28th. My question is what is available in the area that is not Hold'em or Omaha. I saw in the last page there was Pineapple at one point, but more interested in Badugi, 2-7TD, etc. options?

Pretty sure the crazy pineapple 8/b at Barona is dead. Like Brown Keeper said, only mix w draw games is gonna be the huge 200/400 mixed game at Palomar/Village Club.

I just moved to SD (IB actually) a few months back and I've been thinking of going to Sycuan for it's WSOP qualifier tournament.

Does anyone have any info on this tourney? There is no information online other than it being 30 (buy-in) +7 (finals prize pool) +8 (fee). I'd love to know how many players and the structure of this tourney before I go out to play it.

Thanks,

I have never played a sycuan tournament with a remotely good format. Oceans 11 is your best bet for solid structures.

I'm not expecting excellent tourney structure for a $45 tournament. What I'm hoping someone can give me is a heads up on the basic structure (min/level, blind levels if possible). I just want to be prepared beforehand rather than trying to figure out some basic adjustments due to the structure on the fly when I'm there.

Besides, no structure can be worse than the Village Club 10AM tourney which is the equivalent of a live Hyper-Turbo shovefest.

But there's excellent PLO to help you get over your bust out.

I'm not rolled for that 10/20 PLO game. It's too bad, because the location is perfect! I would push my limits and play a 2/5 PLO, but I'm still working up my roll, since I don't play that often.

PLO at the village is almost always 5/10 although it is straddled often. They are attempting to start a 2/3 PLO 200-1500 buyin on the weekends that I think will be a really good game.

Even 5/10 is out of my range.

2/3 PLO would be nice! Are they thinking midday, or nights? I'll definitely make myself available nights. Midday on the week-end is family time.

I believe 2/5 still goes every Friday at Oceans.
As face said, VC is 5/10 3k cap.
Palomar is the big game- 10/20/40.

Might be good for the food chain if a 2/3 gets going at the village club.
