Pechanga completely screwed up the low stakes cash game structure in their room. The last time I was there (about a two months ago) they were spreading a 1/2 game with a max BI of $100 with a $5 drop (yikes) or a 5/5 game where everyone was buying in short ($300) because there is no game in between.

Ya the jump from 1k/2k to 2k/4k blinds is crazy here.

I thought Pechanga added a 1/3 game?

They did add a $50-$200 1/3 game. When I played, people were either buying in for $50 or $100.

The $1/2 is still going, but at a fixed $40 buyin.

What was the rake? 4+1? What about no flop? Modified $1 drop?

If my memory serves me right, you are correct on both counts.

How long ago did that start? The website still doesn't list it.

It was in the mailer I just received though. 1/2 40NL, 1/3 50-200NL, 2/5 200-1000NL, 5/10 500 uncapped.

Re: San Diego Poker Group (2)

Anyone play in the daily tournaments at Palomar?? Moving out to San Diego at the end of July, and Palomar will be one of the easier card rooms for me to get to (will have no car and be using public transportation).

DAILY TOURNAMENTS: The Palomar Card Club has an $18+2 Buy-In Tournaments Monday-Friday beginning at 10am. Palomar Card Club will add $250 to the Prize Pool. Multiple $20 re-buys for the first two levels. The starting chips count is 1500 and re-buys are for 1500.

SATURDAY & SUNDAY TOURNAMENT: The Palomar Card Club has a $30 Buy-In Tournament every Saturday with a $2000 guaranteed prize pool beginning at 10am. Multiple $20 re-buys for the first hour. $20 add-on at the end of the first hour. The starting chips count is 1500, re-buys are for 1500 and the add-on is 2000.

Anyone have any clue on structure (assume it's like 15 or 10 minute levels with many levels skipped)? Average amount of runners (isn't the room only 7 tables to begin with?)?

Also, any info of how many runners the tourneys at Ocean's 11 get (while a bit far from Kearney Mesa, where I'll be living, but can get there in less than 2 hours on public transportation, according to Google maps)?

Thanks for any info!

Re: San Diego Poker Group (2)

How long are you staying in SD? I'm looking for people in SD to carpool with at tournaments in the area (including the bike and commerce which is ~2 hours away.)

I actually happen to live 1 minute away walking from palomar. The tournament is more like a (hyper) turbo sng. Gets 2 tables at max, first 5 pay (at 18.) I don't think they add anything to the prize pool.

It's funny how you are moving to San Diego without a car. It takes me less than 2 hours to get to Commerce in LA and you'll be trying to do that to Oceans lol

Moving from Iowa City and am going to live with my mom and brother to begin with. My brother plays cards as well, and has a car, but he also has a job. Won't be able to get rides with him all the time.

I'd definitely be down for chipping in for gas and, eventually taking turns driving (will need to get a CA driver's license first). What casinos do you frequent the most?

Also, you plan on playing any of the events at the WPT Legends Of Poker at the Bicycle that starts at the end of July? Opening event is a $125+$25 with one $100 add-on, $1,000,000 guaranteed with $300,000 guaranteed for 1st. They're running two heats a day for ten days straight (essentially 20 day 1's, lol). Structure is pretty good also. 5000 in chips and add-on for 7000 in chips. 20 min levels first day (25/50, 50/75, 50/100, 75/150, 100/200, etc), 30 min levels second day, 40 min levels third day and 50 min levels at final table.

Also - if you're looking for something today, there's a deep stack at Harrah's Rincon at 1PM. $100+25+20 for 13000 chips, 30 minute levels. This is also a $10K guarantee if 60 or more people sign up.
It's up on their website now.
