Yeah, I'm apparently very unusual in that when I bet tens of thousands of dollars I like to have the best of it.

Actually, that is pretty nitty... I have no plans to be in Vegas, but I could prob get out there for a few days. Please pm me your outside the box idea. I hope it's staking me in the biggest LHE game you can find.

What games run at Palomar on a regular basis?

I checked out the website for games offered, but am curious as to the number of tables and strength of games.

If you had to compare the 2/3 at Palomar and Luck Lady, are there any noticeable differences? Or is LL NLHE pretty much the same anywhere?

Usually have 4-8 limit, a few 2-3 nl, and 1 table of 5-10 nl. 10-20 half NL half PLO probably runs around 30 to 50 percent of the time as well. I can not really comment on the state of the 2-3 game since I have not really played it.

Hey guys I have family in San Diego that I'm visiting. I'm from Detroit, but I'm wondering where the best 2/5 games are.

There are no 2/5 nl games in san Diego as far as I know. Oceans 11 has 2/3 $300 max and 5/5 $1500 max with many tables of each daily.

One guys:
Ocean's 11 spreads a good 5/5 game, only played it once but everyone rants about it. Oceanside is in North County though, anywhere from 30-60 minutes away from the airport. The only room I know about is Palomar that spreads 2/3 and 5/10 but no 2/5.

Other guy:
The 2/3 game at Palomar plays like a short 1/2 during the day, but has a group of regs who are usually sitting on 1k+ stacks by late evening. Level of play stays fairly minimal though. Can't comment on play at Lady but yeah, low limit is low limit just about anywhere in my experience.

U think I'd play high stakes hu stud 8 vs HOW when he is an expert and I barely know the rules and suck at all forms of hu in general? What do you take me for, some kind of idiot who likes to set money on fire?

I'm looking to start a mixed game home game at my place. Probably just low limit stuff to have a good time. Let me know if you are interested in hanging out, drinking a little and playing all of the most insane poker variants under the sun.

i can't remember the last time 5/5nl hit a jackpot at oceans 11........until last night. i got a table share only, but it was cool to get a little bit of a rebate on all that $ we stuff down the jackpot slot. plus then a couple players topped off and the action at the table was great. happy to tip out isabelle the dealer as she is one of the friendliest around.

---------------
PLO game on tomorrow at oceans 11. get your name on the board early -- game starts around 6pm. 1/2 are the blinds, $5 is the completion, the food is comped, and the action is great!

like on high stakes poker, you can agree to run it twice or three times when all in!

once you look at four cards, you won't know wtf to do with only two !

I'll be coming out to SD tomorrow, and staying thru Monday evening.....spending some time at Harrah's Rincon. What's the poker room like there?

If anyone had an opinion, what poker room would be considered the best in the area?

depends on the limits you want to play. some rooms won't spread anything but 1/2 NL.

Personally, I don't like Rincon. But, they've moved the room since I was last there. they've also moved the room off of the casino floor upstairs somewhere as I've been told.

there are three casinos in the area that have poker. Pala, Pauma, and Rincon. none ever get more than a game or two going so the action can die down later in the evenings.

rincon is also kind of stuck out by itself so you can't go to many other places (other than pala, pauma, and Valley view) easily. the easiest one to get to is Pechanga and it is a very nice, big room. they spread some higher games but i think the 2/5 game has something like only a 500 max buy in? not sure.

I prefer Barona as being a nice room but it's also not the easiest to get to.

I go to Viejas mostly but that's just out of convenience. they have enough games going to satisfy me when I want to play.

Ocean's has all the games you want, but I just don't care for the atmosphere of the place. it's fine, don't get me wrong. just something about it I don't like. good staff, great food. it's just my thing. but games are plentiful and in many, many different limits.
