Hi, decently long time observer of 2+2 but never actually posted. I was a reg at 200nl on stars and a pretty steady winner..

Been playing 1-2 at Casino Royale since Black Friday. It seems really soft but I've managed to be break-evenish. I think I might be having bit of adjustment issues to live games since I've never played live before this or it could just be that I haven't put in enough hands in to let the variance settle down.

Would be nice to get to know some regs from 2+2 here.. even though I doubt any of you waste time on 1-2. The rake is ridiculous, but I don't have the live roll to play higher...

PS: I'm a UC Davis student if anyone else also go to UCD.

I've been going maybe 3 times a week for about 5 hour sessions between 3pm-10pm. I'm Asian about 6ft tall and 160lb or so. I'm friends w/ Chris or Matsamuy from here and UCD if you know him.

I've only played strictly 1-2 so that's why you mighta not have seen me. I'm about to head down there right now for a session and dinner lol.

So if you seen an Asian kid at 1-2 that looks kinda too young to be there, that's most likely me haha.

I go to Davis as well, but mostly been playing Thunder and Capitol. Is Caslno royale still doing that ******ed 1$ chip only structure for their 1/2 game?

Living two hours from sac I do not go to often but do often do road trips to play out there when I am tied grinding Jackson, Mateca, Lodi, and Turlock (I live in Sonora).

I play weekend nights since I work weekends. My two cents are that every time I go to royal it has never had a good game. Limelight is fun but the players are really weak and the game is never really quite deep enough for me. Capitol is the place that gets the bulk of my play. Many players have stated capitol to be sketch but I never get that feeling with visible security. I do watch my rear view when ever leaving a game having won over a g. The Derby I felt much more unconfortable about possible mugging (Lodi's wine country does the same thing to me).

It is great we have grouped a thread for just this nitch area with so many cardrooms. I have been debating playing thunder valley and red haw but have not... yet. Thunder is now definately on the list now for next new room to play.

for those people who keep talking about cap being in a horrible part of town let me tell you that I have been playing there for 3+ years and never had or seen anything remotely bad. it is located in an industrial area and the only slight cause for concern is that there is a soup kitchen maybe a mile away that caters to the homeless. you will see an occasional homeless person in the vicinity but security won't allow them in the parking lot let alone the card room.

Looks like 5-10 is back at Royale, I played both spots tonight (CR & Cap), when I quit at Royale the game was breaking (10pm). When I got to Cap three players had followed. Looks like CR's game starts early (2pm), but the all night 5-10 action is at Cap, full game when I left at 2am.

Curious how many of you guys frequent the 5-10 games, or whats your game of choice is?

1-2 @ Casino Royale during weekdays isn't as soft as I expect live 1-2 to be. Yesterday, when I got there at 4:30pm ish or so there was only 1 table of 1-2 and most of them being "regs" (they suck but are reasonably aware of what they're doing...) w/ 1-2 fishes w shortish stacks.

At this rate, it will take me forever to get the roll to play higher :/
I might just succumb to depositing on Carbon.

Try thunder valley. Usually start a 3rd 1/3 game around 2:30-3:00pm. When I leave always 4 tables running. Just need to learn the good regs from the bad ones. Very soft especially fri/sat.

Will be heading out to Nor-Cal in June (Auburn area) I used to semi-Reg the O8 game at the Phoenix in '05. Does anyone know if any mixed games are running at Phoenix, Derby or Thunder Valley, or if an O8 game runs anywhere reguarly?

Pretty sure Phoenix still runs one regularly, and Thunder has had a 4/8 going the last couple weekends I've been there.

O8 or mixed Fly?

If you're playing anything other than 5-10, you'd be best served going to Thunder.

4/8 half kill O8 all day at Royale. Phoenix O8 is very weak now... they dropped it to a 3/6 kill game and is usually heavily propped.

If you want $5 chips at Royale, just request them. By default the floor sells $1 chips.

Hey guys I used to play on stars and still haven't gone out to play live but I may go once school gets out. I'll be starting at UC Davis in Fall '11, so UC Davis guys say whats up. Whats the best place for 1/2? (Kinda broke atm)

5/10 at cap is the place I hear.

I think you will find the best action for 1/3 NL is Thunder Valley.

^^^ in addition to above, 1/3 at capitol is pretty good. Especially after 700pm, when the daytimers are outta there.
