I'll be in town next month for work, I saw on their (dated?) website that Limelight spreads lowball Tuesday and Wednesday...

Does this game run? What're the limits?

Or should I just stick to Capital O8 like I did last trip?

There is a site called poker atlas that shows all current tables and spreads in different areas. It seems to be up to date for sac.

Stones tried it for a while, the Derby (now closed) tried it, FLB tried it, TV tried it but for whatever reason there just aren't a lot of PLO players in Sac.

Stones has been popping all week.

They are running $110 satellites tonight and tomorrow night. Top finishers get seats into the main event. The main event has 3 day 1s, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and combined day 2 on Sunday. It's a $450 buy-in with 40 minute rounds.

Manteca is the only place Ive found in the Big Valley that runs a regular PLO game..Wed and Fri..No max on the buy in and the stacks are usually pretty LARGE..

I'll be making the long ride to Colma for Thursday PLO ..

I played there two weekends ago for the first time. My 1/3 table at 8pm on a Friday night had 3 people who definitely played very regularly, and maybe 2 old fish (both who bought in for $100).

The games didn't seem great. Can you make a living playing here?

Depends on what you consider 'a living'.

Not any sort of living one should aspire to.

I've always considered sac cash games to be pretty weak, I don't live there but based on my small sample lot of regs lot of omcs. I mainly go for tourneys from time to time

How is the $2/5 during the weekday day shift been lately at TV? It's been a while, but last time I was in town, they had been struggling to get the game going. Does it not run at all, or is it hit or miss? I know Stones is the place to play these days, but my question is specifically regarding TV. Thanks.

So Thunder has promotions alongside Monday night football - 5:30-10pm, splash pots, $100 drawings, etc.

I literally saw a guy sit down with $100 and blind away for 5 hours to around $15, I think he played one hand outside of his blinds.

Everyone is pretty weak tight, maybe give it a shot next Monday.

Does anyone know the tax rules if any for winnings in Canada as an American.

In the United States if you win a poker tournament the casino is required to have you fill out a W2-G and they report your winnings to the IRS for any amount over $5,000 after buy in is subtracted.

If you cash in a tournament in Canada does the poker room in Canada have you fill out any such forms? Do they do any reporting to the United States IRS?

Just curious asking for a friend.

Wow what happened to this thread? Anyways, hello all, if anyone still reads/follows this thread and have lived in the Sacramento area for 5-10+ years, would you PM me please? I would like to ask you some questions about living in the Sacramento area as I am thinking about relocating from Southern California. Just very preliminary but talking to some locals would help me get a better idea of the area.

Hey all,

I'll be in various places in CA for a couple of months. I'm looking to play some 1-3 NL at Thunder Valley. Do players in general buy in for the max there?

Thanks in advance.
