Peppermill and Atlantis are the only place to play Reno's version of $2/$5, which is $2/$3 ($5 to go). I'm not sure about the max buy-in, but it's at least $1000. The Peppermill usually has $5/$10 NL on weekends, and $20/$40 Limit during the week at night.

I believe all four rooms that have $1/$2 NL have a max buy-in of $300 or largest stack.

Thanks!
If you looking to go somewhere to play poker for the month of June, then you are much better off going 450 miles south to Las Vegas. It's poker-palooza all over Sin City with the WSOP and the other tournament series.

I'll be spending half the month in Las Vegas grinding smaller tourneys (under $300) and cash games. The action will be much better than the nit-filled games in Reno.

Thank you very much, does 1/2 run throughout the week I assume? And are they games good here compared to Vegas or Cali?

BUMP

Can anyone comment on the NL 1/2 action on weekdays, either during the day or at night? Thanks.

I haven't been there in a while but I'm guessing Peppermill has some of the bigger games. Check out their waiting list online.

The sands regency is super basic but very cheap, sometimes as low as $25 a night. Check the "hotels tonight" app for good last minute deals, that's what I use

I'm not sure where the best deals are regarding hotels, but without question, the Peppermill is where you'll want to play. During the week they'll spread a few 1/2nl games while on the weekend, you'll find 1/2nl, 3/5nl, and 5/10nl. GL

The only real option in SLT is Harveys. Montbleu also has a poker room but it's quite weak in comparison. This weekend, being Valentines and Presidents, Harveys will probably have 5+ 2/3 games, at least one 3/5, and possibly some 5/10 Omaha in addition to their normal 3/6 limit games. There should be plenty of live action this weekend!

Is the Hyatt the only game on the North Shore?

As far as I know it is. If you're staying up North though, you might as well take Mt. Rose Hwy to Reno and play at the Peppermill. Couldn't be more than a 30 min drive.

Going to Sacramento for a conference. Staying after a few days in Marin co. If I want to get pokerz, big 1/2-1/3 or soft 2/5 (my preferred game), where do I go?

Haul my ass out to Tahoe? All the way out to Reno? Or go South to some club in Bay Area?

Thx!!!

Go north on 101 to Graton in Rohnert Park. Closest best option for you.

He said he was spending some days in Marin. Got the impression he was working in Sac. I don't know the best places in Sac anymore. Last time I played there tv didn't even have a room yet and the most ridiculous game ever was at Folsom lake bowl.

My bad. Depending on where you're staying in Sacramento you should be able to find a few 1-3s and 2-5s. Generally Capitol Casino or Thunder Valley are safe bets- I haven't played in the 2-5 games though.

Sac forum said games were thin during week, and 2/5 only runs weekend.

TBH, I prefer 2/5 in a room where something bigger runs (2/5 plo, 5/10)...

Graton have game selection at 2/5 level?

Hi Folks,

So I can get Harveys room for $32/night.

Is Harvey's the best poker in Tahoe? Is North Shore better?

I'm hoping to start 1/2 and 1/3 but have a soft 2/5 to play once I settle in. That soft 2/5 is a big sell point.

I'll be Thursday-Saturday May 15-17. I assume Friday night there should be good tourist action?

Do LMK if Harveys is best (and worth not just going out to Reno). Sounds like it's best on South shore(above)but not sureoverall and vs. reno. Thanks!!!

Harvey's is the only real option around Lake Tahoe. The Hyatt in Incline also has a 'poker room' but it's quite sad except for Summer. Harvey's will spread 2/3nl and if there's enough action, 3/5nl and 6/12 Omaha.

Reno offers much more in terms of volume and the Peppermill has the best room around. But it's Reno. So depends on what you want to do with your time outside of playing cards.

Thanks Sobo!

2/3 is odd creature to me, but willing to try it out. I suspect I'll be getting involved in a lot of ill-advised SB hands! (i see one "bottom two pr vs turn shove" situations in my future).

I assume straddle UTG only? No button/MS straddle?

Thx
