I'm getting pumped for this - will be playing events on the Thursday, Friday, Saturday (and hopefully Sunday/Day 2, lol).

Really really hoping there's cash running in-between.

I was at this event years ago and they had some cash games between the tournament events. But not that many tables unfortunately. They were held in a corner of the ballroom area.

I, too, am looking forward to the games. Omahahahaha (and variants) for the win!

Re: PacWest Poker Classic

Hearing reports of dealer shortages and alternate wait lists to enter the tournament(s). No cash running until dealers free up as tournament field shrinks. I won't be there for a few days yet, so if anyone else has updates from on the ground, feel free to share.

Arrived at the casino Tuesday afternoon. Had to wait to register for the HORSE tourney, but it wasn't a big deal. Able to pay for entry with a credit card.

Tourney well run with few issues.

Cash games were running in the corner of the room. I think there were six tables - NLHE and PLO.

This was a great event - I'm biased because I made it to the final two tables in the Main Event last night, but I had an absolute blast.

Very well run on the part of the staff, looking forward to next year!

Series coming up at Wildhorse in two weeks. Anyone played there? Decent events? Decent venue?

I opted to skip it due to the length of drive (and the weather ended up wreaking havoc over there).

Going to NorCal for WPT Deepstacks at the end of the month instead.

How has The Game been recently? Will be coming into the area in a few weeks. Do they have decent games on Sundays? Do these rooms play NFL games or anything typically?

This would be my first time playing in the state.

Thank you.

The Game off Barbur blvd always has great games. I’m a regular there and the 1/2 games play much bigger than your typical 1/2 game. Lost if straddles on the button or utg for 5-10$. Min buy 100 max buy 500. Stacks typically get huge. I’ve played all over the country and this is by far the juiciest 1/2 game I’ve played in. Each day they’ll typically have an additional game going besides 1/2 NLHE. We got bomb pot games, mixed games with stud and Big O and a massive 1/3 game with 1k buy in. Sundays are Big O nights and they play HUGE

I've never heard of the rooms in Portland having "mixed games with stud". Would love more details?

Is there a list available of the locations in Portland that are currently running cash (or pseudo-cash) games? It would be nice to have the info about all the rooms in one spot.

How many tables typically run on your average weeknight? I typically goto Meadows but The Game is much closer.

Saw today that Brain from Meadows took over the Rialto downtown, he posted some pics in the NW Poker FB group

Anybody player at the Bend Poker Room recently?

We'll be making a trip there in October and potentially moving to that general area and am curious how the players dealing works.

Any up to date info on rooms in the area? I know there's final table in SW, the game in SE, meadows in NE and last frontier way up in La Center but idk much beyond that.

Current impressions would be nice, hitting up final table regardless since it's closest, will report back after I do.

You have the two bolded in the opposite areas (The Game is in SW, Final Table SE).

The only other place I know of is the Kit Kat Club (strip joint) that has poker every evening. Inner NW near Chinatown.

Oops yea you're right. One other question I had is what are expectations around tipping? What's typical pre/post flop? Don't want to stiff the dealer accidentally, know they are working for a living.

Tipping at the places I have been are pretty much the same as poker in other cities. Almost everyone gives a dollar per hand, some give bigger for bigger pots.
