That was the same old structure of the Cadet 5/5 as well.. Beatable with the rake but only for the top regs

Is it worth playing the 2-4 blinds if I'm traveling from the U.S.? I would only play 1 night on Sunday but it seems with rake, time charge and member fee it will not be worth it. Any opinions? Also do they let people watch you play?

It's not worth it at all. You will have to pay 80€ membership fee at the cercle clichy montmarte (the last one open in Paris). They don't let people watch you since they is no space between tables.

The biggest problem is that from the 1st of april they are "losing" 30 members of the staff for not getting agreements from the gambling police they will stop the tournaments for a moment and only have cash game. The waiting lists are already huge(one to two hours is normal) and we think they will explode. That may take weeks to months for recruiting new staff (the new law make the process long with the control from the administration of all the people that work in card rooms)

Live poker in Paris is dying day after day.

Have a nice trip

When is this going to happen? Have those members of the staff already left or are they still there for the moment, as of today? Thanks for the info, btw

The poker director of the card room gave an interview on the most famous french poker site (http://www.clubpoker.net/pascal-roli...martre/n-10573).

He says that they don't have the agreement for 14 employees, so 10% of the overall staff on the 1st of april. They will only have one or two tournaments a week instead of two per day. They already have new staff in formation since 3 months and he thinks that all will return normal in two months more or less.

The Cercle Clichy Montmartre is still the only place to play in Paris. They recruited new staff so they now propose Cash Games and Tournaments on a daily basis.

Thanks very much!

Also, if anyone has any information re admission fee, dress code, games offered, level of play, etc., I'd greatly appreciate hearing it.

EDIT to add: Just checked their website (not FB page) and it looks like there's a €50 entry fee that gets you a membership for one year. There's no dress code per se, but no track pants, shorts, or tank tops are allowed.

They list an "Omaha pot 4/5 250" game. Does anyone know what that might mean?

The "Omaha pot 4/5 250" in actually a dealer choice (PLO 4 cards or PLO 5 cards and other mix games), but the game mostly choiced is PLO 5 cards. The "250" is the minimum buy-in, the blind are 5/5€. 😉

I am assuming from the website NL50 is 1/2 and NL100 is 2/5? What is the action like in these games? I am in Paris soon and if the games are good I would like to test them out

"50" = 1/2
"100" = 2/4
"250" = 5/5

In Paris, they call the tables by their minimum buy-in, not the size of the blinds. There are no max buy-ins.

The games are like most game at that level in europe, mix of bad to good regs and recreational players, not that deep and heavily raked in comparison to US.

You will have to pay the cotization for the year (50-60€ I don't remember) the first time.

See ya and GL

Hey there, I will be staying in Paris for few weeks and am thinking about playing some poker there. Looking mostly for some fun with lower stakes, holdem games. I will be staying in "13th arrondissement" so some suggestions close to there would be nice

Thank you for all the advice in advance!

I assume this is still true? Is there a cover charge or do you have to be a member? Can anyone play?

Is there really nowhere else to play cash games? I found five casinos in a search, but are they private or similar? Heading to Paris tomorrow!

Thanks.

Most of the PLO games are 5/5, min buy in 250 €.
You may find sometimes a 5/10 PLO table.

Cercle Clichy is the only place to play poker in Paris. This may change in 2018.

Poker is alive and well at Cercle Clichy. Was there Monday and Tuesday nights, and it was great. Played the PLO 250, which was a 5/5 game and mostly five carded, although some chose four cards. Players were pretty normal mix of decent and bad chasers (mostly the latter). Very good dealers, nice regulars, drinks and most food (in the "high limit" area) were free. The low-limit area was packed both nights. Loved it and hope to go back next fall.

It was a $30/hour time rake (we played 5/5 PLO), which seems a little high but was worth it. Also, men had to pay 50 Euros for a membership (I think it's good for a year), but women are free. You used your card to sign up for lists (two max), which was pretty cool. Floor was very friendly and helpful. (Cage not so much, but they got us our chips/cash.)
