How do Canadian grinders even handle the WSOP or WPT's if they instantly lose 30% of there equity in any tournament? Seems like a pretty stupid law that forces Canadians to pay the IRS but not Americans (instantly of course).
Yes, you lose 30% equity at first, but you get it most, if not all of it back.

Not legally. You need provable gambling losses to offset your poker winnings, but many winning poker players like me don't play the -EV table games. Refund management companies & some Canadians fake losses to get a refund, but that's like playing Russian Roulette with the IRS if you are not able to prove all those supposed losses.

The local radio station that has ads for Seneca Poker has been plugging that the BBJ is over 130K. I wonder if more tables will be full because of this. Anybody notice anything in the last few weeks? Thanks.

Does anyone have experience with the refund management companies? How expensive/effective are they?

Really wanna try some Seneca tourneys but 30% is pretty absurd.

Hard to tell with it still being the tail end of "tax season" and whatnot... The real test would be when the better weather hits. Back 3-4+ years ago, when the BBJ was originally quads over quads, it wasn't out of the norm to see jackpots go over 200-250k. Personally, I would want this pot to keep growing into the good weather months, to keep the action coming in during the traditionally slow period...

Anybody heard if a regular hit the Seneca BBJ? I'm guessing it was hit over the weekend, Thanks!

I heard it was a Canadian.

Anyone interested in exchanging Canadian for US? Can meet at Seneca, Fallsview, or Niagara?

So rather than pay for parking at my hotel I may as well just park at the casino and leave my vehicle there for the weekend? I plan on playing a lot of poker, but don't plan on being there continuously.

Any experience at this?

Yeah we did this last time. Just get your players card swiped in at a poker room, remember to swip out within 24 hours before you want to leave the garage. This is for niagara, but i imagine FV works the same.

Not sure the action is back still pretty slow but as of May 1st they are allowing live straddle so that will help.

weeee didnt know that. no phones and straddles were probably the most tilting things about fv aside from management being clueless. 2 outta 3 aint bad.

+1. The current poker manager / TD / CSM needs to be replaced. Ryan and Carl would also be better than the current manager. Matt has been the assistant TD for the annual Fallsview poker series, and would be a better TD for the upcoming WPT FPC. Ideally, Fallsview should hire Matt Savage to show the new team everything they need to know to run world-class TDA-compliant events.

Holidays and weekends have fishier games than weekdays. It could be that, the most casual of players play on a long weekend. They tend to get stacked off rather easy compared to regulars or semi-regulars.
