call actually. Tuesday is the "big game" 5/10 3K max or something, it varies the buy in and blinds and whos in town and whos not. Generally a mixed game of PLO and NLHE

Problem with this is that they play "2-5-10" when the buy-in is 1000, which is still "100bb bull sh*t"... They may or may not have it on a Tuesday, but PLO with a $3000 max buy-in is usually the big game that's going. There is a chance that the Fallsview tournaments will lead to some people coming into Seneca, considering the wait lists and overall treatment of the players in Canada just plain sucks.

Played 2-5 and there were some awesome ANGRY Canadian dudes. Also, some weird drunk Canadian dude that wanted to fight all the asians. Game was pretty passive overall. Syracuse hit a nice pot to close the game.

Intresting. I wish fallsview ran mixed nlhe n plo games. Hard to get a plo game going over here. Will check out Seneca soon when I get a chance.

How many people buy in short at 2/5 at Fallsview? Like 200-300?

Lots....id say over half. Pretty normal when a new table open to only have 2-3 players buying in full.

I go to niagara somewhat frequently. So I know how the play is there. How's it differ to Fallsview? Is it better to buy in short?

Thats a preference thing.....I personally buy in full because I think I have a skill advanage over most of the table and I want to be sure I get full value.

The play at FV is higher varriance then Niagara I played there a lot before I moved the FV about 3 years ago.Overall the skill level is still bad but not as nitty IMO.

It's weird the past couple of times are kind of confusing me at niagara. It used to be so nitty, but now people are raising to 12 as standard with K9s. And there's 7 callers! Don't remember it having be that way. Maybe I just need to get back in it more lol

Yeah the games are pretty strange some nights.

The table I was on last night was pretty fun...lots of 3b, re-raising, etc..couple decent players on it, and a few who once in would not get out.

80% of the time if a preflop raise was less then 14ish, it would be re-raised. $10-12 flops were going 5-6 ways all night, and getting blasted in position. Took me a little bit to adjust, but it also made for some interesting hands.

Overall had a good time, it was fun and made some money

I only lost 100. I was up about 300 and got it in bad. Oh well. I remember going and a 7 dollar raise, you'd be lucky to get A caller.

Also, takes about 10 mins to cross the border. On a Sunday morning maybe more cuz all the Canadians are going back home from shopping. Sunday night it'll take anywhere from a half hour to 2 and a half hours.

went to the sabres game friday night and decided to stop over at fallsview casino on my way home back to toronto. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THE POKER ROOM MORE DEAD IN MY LIFE ON A WEEKEND. it was 10pm and the room was less than half full spreading 6 tables of 2-5NL and 1 5-10NL. It was also open seating. I couldnt believe it. I remember going to that room on a weekend and every table would be full with waitlists well over a page deep. What is going on there? Has woodbine really had that much of an impact on the games? Maybe it was just an off night but if not this poker room is going to be in rough shape down the road. I could careless as i despise the fallsview regs but this is just bad for poker in general.

there are a few websites that show border wait times and if it lists 'less then 30 minutes' it means no line up at all. I would recommend crossing at the Rainbow (NF NY to NF ON) vs the Peace (Buf to Fort Erie) as the wait time are normally less.

If the bridge is backed up you could always park at Seneca (free) and walk accross the border.

Part of the reason it was so dead is cause the FV classic just ended on Tuesday and a lot of regs were 'pokered out'. I know a few people that are taking time off after putting in a ton of hours the last 10 days. The impact of Woodbine is less and less each week. Most of the losing regs have come back because they think its fixed....they don't understand they are losing more money because they are seeing approx. 75% more hands.

What Niagara casino? Seneca has either scared mice or donks who fit and fold on the flop but will call big three bets oop with virtually anything.

I was talking about Seneca in my post. Friday Night @ Table 2...wasn't your typical table, and had some fun.

Normally I would agree with you, the tables are like that...once in a while you actually get a pretty enjoyable table (and not just enjoyable cause you win, but just out of the ordinary)

Thinking of braving the weather and making the drive to Seneca from Rochester. Can any locals give a traffic report?

Unbelievably bad experience at Seneca today.

Waited 2 hours for a seat @ $200/max. One table running, wait list almost 20 deep, no roll call for a new table. The lady's attitude with non-regs didnt help.

Wasted an entire afternoon sitting in a cardroom and didnt play a single hand.

As much as I rag on Turning Stone, I've never waited more than a few minutes for a table.

The 200 max game is pretty bad for live poker. It's full of rocks and its hard to get a guy to stack off. The 100NL is where the action is and plays much wilder. Also aside from snow storms the driving into Niagara Falls NY is always easy the city is virtually dead economically.

I swore off the 100 max games a long time ago, just not my cup of tea.

Never had a problem at Seneca before, but today was really frustrating. Driving an 1 1/2 hours to sit for 2 hours and be barked at by the woman at the board when I asked about opening another table when I saw how many players were on the list wasn't my idea of a fun Saturday afternoon.

On the plus side, the weather/roads were nowhere near as bad as the news made them out to be. Smooth ride there and back...still a waste of gas though...lol

Just had a nice read about gov. Cuomo trying to get 4 state-run Vegas casinos opened up in the state. 1 of which would be in WNY, likely in Niagara Falls.

I would love to see this happen personally, to give us even more options of poker rooms or places to gamble. How would everyone else feel about it?

Fallsview has terrible information regarding tournaments on their site. Can someone let me know if they have daily/weekly tourneys and/or sngs? If so what days and times, buyin and rake, and level structure?

Thanks

Terrible idea if they don't intend to kill of the one they have there now. There is no way WNY can have 2 casinos on the US side. If you walk the floor on the US side it's dead now that Buffalo has slots. I don't even think the Canadian side can have 2 casinos(it's rumoured that Niagara is slated to close at some point).
