I don't know what happened for sure but from What I have heard it had something to do with the Provincial Government and the way the casino ran things.
There was nothing wrong with the attendance they were pretty much guaranteed 600 + Just another Ontario Lottery and Gaming **** up

I could see something being about the way the casino runs things though. Considering what was going on just before the Poker Classic in 2011 .
Guys were buying up the super satellite tickets and selling them for double the price right in front of the pit bosses. FFS
They did nothing about it. Not sure if they did this past winter. I stayed away. Bad publicity in a couple of newspapers and on the forums about it.
Winnipeg and Vancouver. I think I read a similar story about a couple of guys who came up from California who were treated poorly too.

Anyone see the stupid "Lucky Lucky" side bets they have on two of the poker tables?

Everyone including the dealers think it's the dumbest thing they've ever seen. It's pretty bad.

It is arguably the dumbest thing I've ever seen. I was there a couple nights ago and a floor and I were debating whether it was the worst bet in the house. I think it is. They were talking about the middle bets in craps and sic bo, but I still think it's the absolute worst. It slows the game down tremendously (it's slow enough already) and it's just generally bad.

It's sometimes fun if the whole table is into it at 3am on a Tuesday when everyone's drunk and in a good mood. It has the effect of loosening up the table. But I would never bet it normally under any circumstances.

Just remember that Toronto has the CNE casino open so that will take a lot of players from Fallsview. I know it's limit but it's close to home for many.

i really don't get why CNE doesn't set up NLHO, i mean limit is tougher to beat IMO but such a grind compared to even 1/2 NL. Plus i've heard the rake is crazy. i'd rather pay 14/hr at fallsview.

I'm not sure this was something that was answered explicitly in this thread or not (despite reading through it), but I'm moving to Buffalo soon and plan to be spending quite a bit of time at the Seneca casino.
  • Is the NY-side like the CA side in charging $7 per beer?
  • Is the rake structure timed or pot-raked?
  • Do the comps work hourly or are they non-existent(as I understand the CA side to be)?
It's going to be about a 10-30 min drive so I'm weighing apartment options based on their location to the casino.

Any advice/imput would be appreciated PM'd or Posted

I know Seneca gives free draft but you have to pay for bottled stuff

Rake is only 4+1, comp is only 60 cents/hr.

Teddy, look for an apartment in the tonawanda/Amherst area. Nice places to live, only about a 20 minute drive to the casino via 190.

Yeah, Seneca is decent compared to the tight-assed rules in Canada. Free mixed drinks and beer, and a good mix of games.

I was up there mid week last week and it was kind of dead though. Very limited games (just a bunch of 1/3 and a couple 2/5 games, no limit games of any sort) which kind of turned me off.

I used to play in the grumpiest Omaha H/L game in the world there when they run it on Fridays, but I come from Pittsburgh and since we have nice casinos here I haven't bene up as much.

Still a good room though. I'm disappointed by the lack of limit games on the Canadian side, too. Sometimes I just want to get hammered and donk off at a 3/6 limit game, ya know?

You could go to Brantford to play Limit.
It's about an hour or so NW of Niagara.

As for the comped Drinks. It's the silly liquor act . Another reason why the Government should not be involved in the Casino business.

How am I supposed to know which casino he is referring too when he says "Canada has its largest bad beat ever!"?

My nephew is going to be playing hockey for Brockport University this year so I'll be in the Western New York area for quite a weekends this season. Can someone let me know the best poker rooms in this area?
