Is poker included in games of chance or separate?

Most people have no chance so they should be 24/7.

Here is an article on the possible new room(s) in Salem, NH.

http://www.eagletribune.com/news/cha...m_content=READ

What I can't tell from this is only one license being given out? Or is it possible we could be seeing 2-3 rooms open up in Salem?

Edit: after reading Dan's quote, it does seem like there could be more than one room. But maybe he can confirm/clarify.

After further hunting, it does appear that the River Card room got a special use permit last month to take over an existing space in Nashua:

So perhaps we will be getting yet another option West of Seabrook soon.

There are NO Limits to the amount of licenses per community by the lottery, and there are no limit as to the number of rooms a community can approve. The key is getting space that can meet local community regulations and get all the approvals necessary.....

Thanks for clarifying. One dealer at The Rock was saying only one license would be awarded, so I'm glad you've confirmed this.

there are multiple approvals required by the town.... they could actually approve every room at ZBA, only to sink all of them at Planning bd....

I don't suppose there is a way to see how many cash games are running at Seabrook without calling, is there?

Sad to see the Rock close for good. It was one of the nicest tracks around, especially before casinos came East.

Eastern Poker Tour Championships - back at Foxwoods (for one more season) - message from EPT below;

We wanted to get the word out as soon as we got word, to at least give our managers an answer to the heavily asked question "Do you know where the championship is yet?". It was a bit of an emotional whirlwind for all of us and our staff as rumors and theories swirl around the community, but we can put them all to rest with more notice than usual, 90 days in advance.

We are proud to announce that for one more season, we will be hosting another Eastern Poker Open along with our Season Ending $36,000 Championship at Foxwoods Resort and Casino on November 4 - 7, 2016.

This weekend festivity will include:

1,000+ PLAYERS, ALL FROM EASTERN POKER TOUR!
4 DAYS OF NON-STOP POKER ACTION
SEASON 26 $36K CHAMPIONSHIP
(for nightly winners and top 15% from each region)
EPT CERESI CUP
EPT BATTLE OF CHAMPIONS
$36K FINALS LIVE-STREAMED FROM FOXWOODS
PLAYER APPRECIATION PARTY AT HIGH ROLLERS

Wait... How are we back?

The main reason we are back, is that the tournament room will not be broken down as early as management thought it would and we will have at least partial use of it for our event!

The other reason we are back is because we agreed to a $35 player fee to help pay for the staffing, the dealers, the space, their incurred cost for logistics around the live stream, and the drinks. This is up $5 from last season and even though it is a small increase, we hate having to increase anything. In fact EPT is kicking in an additional $5,500 from our budget to keep it from being $40. Based on the tremendous support in favor of the casino option on the poll, because of the listed benefits above, and the great weekend retreat that it has become, we feel it is the right decision for the players.

Is this our last championship at Foxwoods?

As I learned in 12 years in this business, never say never, and we do love the poker staff there. However the fact remains, the 50 table tournament room that made our event so easy to host is disappearing, and tournaments will be hosted downstairs with the rest of the live action making our 500 person influx very unlikely and the costs associated with opening a function hall just for our event are just really not an option for us. They can only do it for large series because of the dozens of events and player fees ranging from $50 - $200 per entry.

What Happend to Mohegan?

We still hope to have Mohegan as an option in the future, because it really is a spectacular venue. Unfortunately, right now, their function space is not equipped with the cameras necessary for a poker tournament per the commission, making it impossible to host our 400-500 person tournament. This news was a surprise to even the Room Director and actually came after our public survey.
We could have possibly made this work by splitting up the fields into 4 Flights, but we did not want to make that change to our players mid-season and we could not get the necessary online registration page up in time. The flexibility does have merit to give players more options with scheduling conflicts and is something we are considering in the following seasons to open up many more cheaper hosting options than we have now.

What do you mean 4 flights? How would that work?

The thought here is to turn Tournament of Champions (Day 1A) into day 1A @ 10am and 1B @ 4pm and give players a choice as to what time they want to play, first come first serve based on online registration, and all registration would be handled online. The same would happen to the Points Championship (Day 1B) would become Day 1C / Day 1D. Top 8 from each day would advance. The odds of advancing are identical as before, it was just such a big change that we felt it should warrant an announcement well before hand.

What was the Vote Results?

Even though information behind the scenes obviously definitely changed since our vote, your votes and comments were tremendously helpful in ultimately making this decision. Without your votes coming in at an over 2 to 1 ratio, we probably would have chosen the MA Facility.
In Favor of Mohegan: 68%
In Favor of MA Facility: 32%
In fact half of the 32% was only becasue of the Sept 23 - 26 dates, based on comments, so we can only assume that at least 10% of those 32% would also be excited for this announcement.

More details on the Championship Event?

The details for the event are going to be nearly identical to our past events. To see the schedule from last season, click here. We are still 90 days out, and usually release room block information tournament schedules, and times at the 30-40 day mark when we have them from the casino.

I hope you are all as happy and excited for this announcement as we are, as well as well informed on what ultimately lead to this decision! If you do have other questions, please feel free to shoot us an email.

I could be wrong about HORSE being the mix game. I was just told it was HORSE by a dealer and I assumed he was right.

1/2 PLO (High Only) spread at Hampton Falls last night.
They are planning to spread it again on Fri, Sat, and Sundays, and hopefully holidays, and more often if there is demand.
