I'll check out Cheers when it opens. Hampton Falls is really the only place worth playing 2/4 in NH with BBCC being a somewhat distant 2nd. HF is a 45 min drive though.

No way is the action at Hampton Falls better than BBCC. Softest games I've ever seen at BBC both 1-2 and 2-4

I haven't played that much at Hampton, but based on my experiences so far it would be completely irrational for me to agree with you. When I think of the worst regulars at BBC, most of the people I think of I have rarely seen in the past month. Would play there if there wasn't anywhere else fwiw

I've played a BBCC three times and I've only played the 2/4NL. I've played many times at Hampton Falls. Comparing the skill level of the players at each room is difficult. I've played with a lot of crappy players at Hampton. However, at BBCC I haven't encountered as many crap bags. This could be due to the fact that I've only played there 3 times, but who knows. I definitely wouldn't say that one place is "harder to beat" than the other.

What I can say about BBCC is that the 3 times I played the $2/4NL it was playing like an average weekday Foxwoods $5/10NL. Average pre-flop raise was $35-$40.

My observations from a handful of Saturdays at BBCC playing $2/$4 during the day is that most tables are comprised of 1-2 OMCs, 2-3 weak passive and/or loose passive players, 1 total spewtard, and 1-2 who think they're playing solid TAG but shoot themselves in the foot when it comes to position, sizing, or some other key strategy aspect. At most I've seen 2-3 of what I'd call competent players at the same table at the same time. If you play well and don't get cold decked, it's a recipe for success.

Sounds good. Guess I'll have to make a venture up there sometime instead of my usual weekend type of trip to Mohegan/Foxwoods.

that description doesn't differentiate it from any 2/5 game in new england, imo. no need to drive extra to get that action.

Any update on the progress of Cheers? We can't wait to have a good tournament room in the Rockingham area again.

My mom asked me for a Salem poker update when she heard Grand China is closing their doors on Monday after 41 years, renovating, and reopening as Chasers poker room.

I told her, "Update? Sounds like you know more than I do!"

So we got Cheers and Chasers. Any others in the pipeline?

I can't find anything recent, but there was a lot of buzz about a possible third room too. Here's an article mentioning it.

thanks!

Lots of lulz in that one. "my wife's a local politician, so we're a slam-dunk to get approved...and a second cardroom anywhere else in town would be BAD for the charities!"???

Puck-

Is there a date you are planning on opening or is it still up in the air?

Cheers Poker Room & Casino
Schedule Update
September 20, 2017

Greetings Everyone,

In April of this year, 5 months ago, I set the last official day of summer, September 23rd as our opening day of business, “subject to permit delays.” And while we are close enough to complete that the casino carpet has been ordered we are not there, yet.

There is no construction delay, only red tape. The construction schedule has progressed as planned; permitting delays from the town and the state have slightly delayed actually finishing out the interior build out of the Casino floor.

We have obtained all of the necessary State Lottery licenses and have received the green light to open from the State. Finally on September 14th, we received the final build out permit for the actual Casino floor space from the town.

We are anticipating 33 construction days to complete the project and be ready to open. Opening day is all subject to permit inspections, final inspections, and final issuance of the occupancy permit. Allowing several days of inspection and red tape delays, we SHOULD and PLAN to be open within 29 days of our long planned September 23rd date.
We are planning a soft opening sometime around mid-October and will announce a Grand Opening date approximately 23 days from now.

For those of you who have been following along, you are aware of the process we went through. Internally, we set a date back in April. We feel pretty good to be looking at opening within 30 days of that date.

Please bear with us as we wrap it up and navigate the final construction finishes, and any delays which are beyond our control.

We have an incredible staff of management and dealers and have over 70 charities signed up. For up to date info, find us on the web at www.cheerspokernh.com and like us on Facebook.

Thank you,
Daniel Dandreo
