ice cream from you would definitely make it worth it!
Top that off with action from the PokerBeast and how can I resist?

but...Can't tonight.

I am planning on heading up tomorrow for the tourney. I'm trying to get some practice in as I'm playing in the WSOP ME, and I really haven't played many long tournies in years other than PLO events. So, cash games are taking a back seat until after the ME.

Or to get unwanted attention, ala the old room in Holbrook from a while ago. I still miss that place. In fairness, I'm still not sure what happened could've been avoided even with better security.

Went to BBC in Nashua yesterday for the second time. Nice, clean room. I like the style and weight of the chips. Drink service is very active. Players were pretty quiet (it was daytime) with a nice mix of exploitable splashiness and nitiness. There was no live band at the time - only piped in music that was a tad loud for me but by no means unreasonable.

They had the first 1/2 game running nearly right away after opening, and 2/4 was going within 45 minutes. By the time I left at 3pm there were two tables of 2/4 and about six of 1/2.

The "big hand bingo" promo is still up and running - $100 for each quads (they take them off the list as they hit, so only 13 can hit), $600ish for each straight flush (spades and clubs had already hit), and something like $2100 for a royal (the graphic showed spades, but I'm not sure it has to be spades). Once all have hit they reset them the next day. The BBJ had apparently just been hit during the last week.

I'll definitely return.

Played at Boston Billiards last weekend with no issue, but when I tried to stop by mid-week they had a waiting list 5-long for 1/2 and said they had no more dealers available, so I just left. Only a couple tables were open.

Otherwise, slow dealers but familiar atmosphere.

Dealers were seemingly better when I went on Saturday. None were superb but all were friendly without being overly chatty, and they handled rake, all ins, and other situations well from what I saw. I can see how the room might be more weekend-centric.

Funny thing I forgot to mention - I got there at about 11:55 since I knew I have to leave at 3ish. There were about 10 people waiting for the doors to open at noon, and all but a couple didn't look like poker or pool players. They were all at least 70 and looked like they were more suited for queuing up for the early bird special in Florida. But when those doors opened, they made a beeline for the blackjack table and they were all still there when I left. Senior degening at its finest!

I did voice in this thread some concerns in regards to the BBC a while back after I saw the dealers somewhat allowing some real loose table chat in regards to hands being played. Should note that since going back a few times recently I saw much improvement overall with the dealers. Obviously, I know many are well experienced and this was never a problem. I did speak to the floor when I originally posted that so feel like I should chime in that I would like to think they did a good job of acclimating some of the new dealers or those who were more used to a friendlier home game atmostphere when it came to rules as such.

PLO went Friday at Hampton. Real good game. About 3 times per orbit it was straddle to 4 and blind raise to 15. At one point I was in for $1500.... yes, it's a 1-2 game.

so are you not telling us that you finished the night down $3500?

Fortunately I only brought $1500......

I had the opposite problem last Friday night. After about an hour I was up about $800...YES it was a 1/2 game. Spent the next few hours bleeding chips.

But, I'm about to do it all again tonight! PLO @ Hampton!!!

It was SUCH a crazy game. One guy would 3 or 4 bet repeatedly WITHOUT LOOKING AT HIS CARDS. He kept asking if I wanted to flip for $100. Um no, in fact I want to play poker, not bingo!

Anyone know where I can find larger LHE games in the New England area? I know foxwoods offers 8-16 sometimes but I'm looking for a room that offers a game of that size more consistently.

I don't think you will find a large limit hold em' game outside of the CT casinos (or home games), because max bet in NH is $4.

20/40 LHE runs pretty much all the time at Foxwoods

That's a bummer. Never play in NH but would for a decent limit game

Thanks for letting me know about this. I'll have to work up to be rolled properly for 20/40.

Every tme this thread gets bumped, I rush in, looking for the same thing. But clearly, the answer is:

Dan, I know you said summer, but do you have a target date in mind to open?

no...can't narrow it down....100% out of my hands and in the town boards, misc random permits

We have all our permits from the state and our office on site is open and taking employment application. application is available at http://cheerspokernh.com/employment/
WE have permits to get going and work on the site has commence. We are on the last leg of the last (maybe) town permit to finish up.
Goal is to open on or before the last day of summer season. I'm generally on site 9-2 everyday, stop by for a tour, job, or bring me food/coffee...

Oh.... opening date is still contingent on everyone doing there jobs in a reasonably timely manner....and the local inspectors doing the same !

Good luck, Dan.

I've read another room may also be opening in Salem around October.

Puck I think what could set your room apart from all the others is somehow organizing regular tournaments with good fields.. I know its hard without the option of a guarantee but I don't see you pulling the "lowell" players from BBC which is why their games are so soft

I'd rather there were no tournaments at Cheers. If you're getting shuffling machines then you'll automatically be the place for cash games. Not to mention the PLO games are going to be amazing......
