The end game in satty's is a whole different ball game! Soft playing from big stack to big stack is sickening! I bubbled a recent $1100 buy in @ Mohegan! I saw 3 all in double ups before I got knocked out! I started with a $75 satellite and advanced to the $250 where I bubbled! I literally let out a quick scream when I busted!
Gotta have a big stack at the end!

Geez that sucks. So much good playing to get so close.

I do see your point. Why wouldn't they slow play, as they're just waiting out the shorties to die. This tourney at FW also starts with an $80 satty and then a $300 one, but I'm just going to pony up the $300 and start there. 5 seats guaranteed and I figure the 6 spot will win 1-2K, although hopefully more will play. Just wondering - how long did that $250 satty take? Couple of hours or 6+?

I didn't say it wasn't the correct play. It just sucks to be short at the bubble.

Haha, I lol'ed too. Very clever.

On a side note...having a bit of trouble getting my hands on Tournament Poker for Advanced Players. Not on Audible and none in stock at Barnes & Noble. Grrr so I had to order on Amazon and pay shipping, which makes me cry and now I wait.

In the meantime I did get that book by Duke & Vorhaus on Audible so I can listen while doing some cardio. Duke narrates and her voice is KILLING me. Like nails on a blackboard. Just started it but so far seems like a waste. Hopefully it gets more detailed and insightful.

Any one down at Foxwoods. Lots of tables open in the cash games. Walked in and instantly had my choice for a 2/5 game.

I was at the Rock on Friday. They allowed all $500 to be posted at once when you sat at 2/4 game.

We also got the First 2/4 PLO game going. The table which had just been called for 1/2 PLO agreed to play at 2/4. A few players agreed to play, but later moved to the 1/2 table. The game had a decent wait list, longer than 1/2 PLO list. It played until closing, although short handed for the last hour, but they did cut the rake in half with 5 players or less. They even stopped the bad beat dropped when down to 3 players.

Hopefully, it will become a regular game.

If the rules are like Foxwoods, the BBJ is only eligible with at least 4 players dealt in, so it makes sense they didn't drop for it with 3 players.

Was at the Rock last night. Place was packed. It's definitely starting to pick up again.

I'm stopping by Hampton Falls this weekend on my way up North instead of the Mohegan, partly because I'm itching to tick off #40 on my list of poker rooms visited, and partly because of the Yelp reviews: "CALLING ALL DONKIES!! Oh wait! You are already here... "

Can't wait.

from what I hear, Hampton Falls has not spread PLO yet, but are starting what they call PLO Thursdays, to encourage PLO players. Not sure if they have a bunch of PLO players trying to get a game started and picked Thursdays to do it, or what. I hope it works. There rake is $1 less than the Rock, so that would be nice, but The Rock's location on RT 93 seems to draw more people, and The Rock has been catering to the PLO game.

Anyone ever hear of "The Legend" Tony Bigcharles? He's playing PLO at Foxwoods right now....pretty much non-stop until Friday.

He's an autistic, homeless, degenerate gambler with quite a following. For years he was living in casinos/hotels in Vegas before rules about that changed. Now he travels around to various poker rooms, keeping his "roll" in his dirty sock.

If you're at Foxwoods today or tomorrow you can't miss him.

In other words, he's the poor man's JRB?

Sorta...but different. He's been banned from many many casinos for outbursts, throwing glasses, ash trays, throwing chips, his racist comments, etc. His sock roll is up over 25K now and was as low as 2K not that long ago. A big loss makes him go crazy.

He's the classic degenerate gambler. A decent poker player but plays video poker, video black jack and takes some big losses. I used to try to help him stick with poker, but he just can't.

I just read that post full of quotes from TBC. Wow.

I don't think I'd ever want to watch a documentary about this guy. I can't imagine it would be anything but sad.

It could be interesting if you were to frame it as a psychological thriller or something. TBC's brain must be a frightening place.
