My favorite poker room in Vegas is Palazzo. I've always had good luck there, I think the high ceiling and it's non cramped layout really makes it easier to stay focused. I just don't wanna play in a poker room that feels like a crowded cubicle farm.
Hustler is the nicest in LA area. Bike is remodeling but is still not as nice as Hustler and I doubt it ever will be. Free food depends on what limits you're playing, but it's more often totally free at Hustler.

Palazzo doesn't have a poker room so I assume you're talking about Venetian.

You need scans. I think it was 3 for a meal.

Might go to LA for labor day weekend, are the low stakes like 2/3 1/3 NLHE stack limits really as bad as what shows up on pokeratlas? Like can't even buy in over 100$ in most casinos in LA?

Last I knew the 2/3 at Bike is up to $300 and up to $200 at Gardens.

Figured it can't be as bad as what's listed on pokeratlas but it seems to be that way for all the LA casinos, think I'm going to go to sacramento instead for the weekend though. Thanks for answer

Good Afternoon

I am relocating to Burbank. I am a decent winner playing 1-3 to 5-10; I win 6bbs per hour across all stakes. Where are some good places for me to work on rebuilding my bankroll? I have $7k I can devote to poker right now, but I really don't want to lose everything. Los Angeles Traffic looks horrible! What do you guys think I should do?

I'd take a shot at the 300-500 5/5 at Commerce. All the other games are unbeatable for any decent amount because of the rake and buyins.

Saw the new hollywood park expansion, will poker be in the new building? Are they closing the other one? Not clear from the website.

Will the traffic actually be that bad?

His suggestion doesn't make any sense. Ventura is much, much farther than Commerce/Bike/Hustler, which are much closer to Burbank. Traffic's bad either direction.

This. Ventura is over 60 miles away from Burbank, so it will take you roughly an hour to get there even without traffic, and if you happen to hit some, even longer.

But yes, traffic going down I-5 to Commerce can be HORRENDOUS and it could take you an hour just to go 20 miles. But that's worst case scenario. If you don't go in the middle of rush hour, you can pop down there in 25-30 minutes. I live 5 minutes down I-5 from Burbank and it takes me 20-25 minutes as long as I avoid rush hour. Plus sometimes taking I-10 or CA-60 to I-710 saves you some time.

It's almost always best when on the 5 to go to the 10 east, then to the 710 south, and then back to the 5 if there's any sort of traffic on the 5

In LA for the next week or so. First time here, any suggestions on where to play? I typically play 1/2-5/5 NLHE, 10/20 LHE and low stakes PLO and PLO8, but will play any game. Also, I'm staying in the Redondo Beach area and will be ubering everywhere, so please take that into consideration.
Lastly, any suggestions on sights or things to do while I'm here? Late night grub options? Bar suggestions?
Thanks and cheers!

Thats easy, Hustler Casino.

Straight down Redondo Beach Blvd. SW corner of Redondo Beach Blvd and Vermont.

The 5/5 game is really good. The game plays pretty deep with average stacks sizes around 2K. Not uncommon to see 3K to 4K stacks. Just be prepared for weird rules like two big blinds or two small blinds. Also people "sit out" alot to collect player card swipes. Food is free at this level still, not 100 percent sure they might have changed it but still free food for sure after 3 hours.

Dont play the 1/2 or 2/5 game. Super short Max buyins.

Welcome to my hood. I can confirm that as of end of July playing 5/5 at Hustler gives you free food.

Expensive meal for me. Didn't play well, and had rather tough table for 5/5 with a few pros and very little dead money. But, yes, free food I was told minus sushi.

Ah yes, the ol' "free meal" that costs you multiple big blinds. Every live player has been there. Even though I know it makes no sense from an EV perspective, I will sometimes play tighter if I'm there for a short meal session instead of a real session. The reason being "I'm not going to let this pulled pork sandwich cost me a couple hundred bucks again!"

Lol. I usually don't let it affect my play/style, just funny/sad to think after the session, "Man, I could have legitimately bought a cheap car instead of that piece of fish."

Beautiful new room, better access off of Century, better valet parking, better porte cochere, happier dealers, very clean.

Inadequate check-in desk, poor player waitlist board.

Didn't see the menu, did not eat. Plan to next time.

Overall, quite an improvement. Needs to get with the times and get some sort of waitlist/app/smartphone compatibility.
