I can't speak for
The Vic but I qualified for
The Hippo &
Empire cash-races for June and to make sure to qualify I did 100 hours at
The Hippo and 26 days at
The Empire. You might get away with 24 days for the July one and I think you can do 95 hours at
The Hippo. Just keep checking when you go in.
It's quite heavy-going, especially if you're having a losing month, and I don't really like them to be honest, but if you are going to go for it then doing both is not a bad option cos you'll often need a change of scene of an evening anyway - and "free" £800 (effective) in entries to a couple of tournies aint bad.
I overheard a couple of regs say that
The Hippo one is tougher cos the tables aren't as soft and it's based on hours played rather than visits but you can definitely find yourself on unbelievably crazy-soft tables at
The Hippo sometimes.
Finally, be aware that
The Hippo cash-race itself is a turbo-structure with 15 minute levels and no wriggle-room to play proper poker. Some regs will still tank and Hollywood as if it's the TV tables at the World Series and you might get 8 hands per level if you're lucky but you'll be pretty much on push or fold mode after 2 hours.
The Empire one is a more long and drawn out affair.
P.S.
The Hippo cash-race is/was held on Wednesday evening at 7PM. None of the cash-races clash.
