The Vic or Palm Beach is your best bet.

I follow the Hippo on twitter and they tweet their cash game details regularly. They occasionally have games that high but not all the time. Seems weekends they have a table £10/£5

I have been reliably informed that the bunch of slot machines on that dark little corridor on the way in to the poker room at the Empire make more money than the poker room.

Those little old Chinese ladies are doing their bollocks.

I think the Hippodrome are trying to get a 5/10 game started this month, marketing it as "the Big Game" and offering no session charges before 9pm. Never previously seen 5/10 tables or bigger except during the EPT London.

Rare to even see 2/5 get going there so I am not sure if they have the player pool for a regular 5/10 game. But who know, perhaps their promotions will attract a crowd who play these stakes.

.
That makes sense as they retweeted a picture of a guy at that table but hardly ever retweet anything. Maybe they are trying to make it happen, they also seem to have to been hosting some premier league players recently - Walcott was there apparently. Perhaps they are trying to get those type of people interested as I reckon that could draw players in - some fish to say they played with some premier league player and some regs who want to exploit it

Is there a dress code to get into the Vic? Will I get in wearing shorts?

Probably best to call to make sure but I'd be surprised if they let you in with shorts.

I do not know how people rave about the hippodrome games. I went there yesterday and I have not sat in 2 games so bad for a while. Everyone was waiting for aces and no one fancied raising preflop. Was painful.

Yeah I experieneced the same when I went. Not been back since.

I envisage the games are good prime time fri and sat evening tho?

Interesting goings on at the Vic tonight. Someone sat down at a 1:1 and started playing someone else's stack. When the first guy came back there was £50 magically missing from his stack and he tried to mosey on out of the casino. Some protestations later a quick review of the security cams resulted in his being led out of the room by security and the fifty quid being refunded by the Vic.

Different.

The hippo just put on their FB page that they are running a 5/10 game from 7.30 tonight. No session charge up until 9 and then £15p/hr after that. Min buy in £750.

Question - having only ever played live games that are raked and that don't have a session charge, how us the session charge paid? Is it split between everyone at the table at the time?

Just curious. What has the hippo been like when England playing.

Any thoughts how busy it will be just from a catch the game perspective. Cheers

Was the for Italy match (last saturday night), were like 5-7 1/2 tables running. My game was nothing special. No one was even drinking :/

Couple other tables looked a bit better though so take it fwiw.

its £15 per person PER HOUR

works out better than paying rake especially at 5/10+, pretty sure its cheaper than the vic/palm that are the only other people spreading 5/10 at the mo, but not sure they will get the punters!

Have a few questions about the Cromwell mint:

Will I get in wearing shorts?
Do the games run 24 hours or are there dead times? When are they?
Pretty sure only 1/2 NL runs but are there any other stakes/games that run?

Shorts are very doubtful. Don't honestly think theres any casino's in London that do.

Their poker room opens at 7pm. Don't know about any stakes other than £1/£2.

Don't waste your time with the Mint. If you decide not to listen to my ''words of wisdom'', be prepared to play against a table full of 60 year old regs who will slowroll you at any opportunity possible

As I said Palm Beach lets you in with shorts [during Summer days]

Also I have been to Aspers in shorts

I think it depends on the day - if it's hot - just ring the casino and many seem to let you in, in summer wear

shorts are fine at Aspers, but jogging bottoms are not, they didn't have a dress code a while back, but seems they change it regularly, either way they don't seem to inforce it much as you see people in the most scummy clothing going and no respect for others when it comes to personal hygiene

Depends if you plan to eat or not really, and even then washing your hands should be fine.
