Completed the survey ... the survey could do with a few "n/a" options but I did my best.

Re: London

I went last night too. The 1/2 was very disappinting game so played 1/1. 88 vs 1010 on 10855x board, aa vs 99 on 9xxx board (folded turn), k9 vs presumably somethign better on kkxx board.

One guy annoyed me by saying to this other guy across the table, 'Why did you raise? The fish would've called too.' Were they never taught any manners?

I was in aspers last night and one of the regulars pissed me off too. He kept getting aggressive with the table fish (because he lost a big pot to him before i arrived) and just created a bad atmosphere at the table so I called him up about it to which he said it was none of my business (aggressive tone of voice of course) but of course its my business, i dont want the fish to go home!!!

The same guy sits and folds every hand for 3 hours solid (played with him a few times so not just a dry run of cards) and then expects everyone to double him up when he eventually gets aces and starts verbally abusing his opponents when they dont. He also offers lectures to the table regarding the playing styles of his opponents and why they shouldn't of made particular moves.

The thing that always gets me is if he knows so much about playing poker and takes it so seriously why is he wasting his time playing with the likes of me at the 1/1 level, surely he could take his vast skills and knowledge to a 2/5+ game. But then i open my eyes and realise that his 70BB stack has done nothing in the last 3 hours and the lectures keep coming.

I know i have sort of went on one here but this type of player really pisses me off and i was a bit disappointed that nobody else backed me up when i challenged him (including the dealer), but i suppose thats asking too much as he seemed to be mates with all the other regulars and dealers.

The BA275 / BA274 route has been running as competition to the Virgin flight for a while now. I haven't had a chance to try the BA option yet, although I would definitely expect the BA planes are newer and better than Virgin's offering.

The timings of the flights still favour Virgin though imo -- the BA flights are about 5 hours later (leave London 16:15 instead of 11:25) and depart LV at 20:45 instead of 16:40 -- not as convenient in my view.

BA departs Heathrow instead of Gatwick (a plus point for BA).

I've never used the Machester - LV route on Virgin but that's another option.

Anyone got any reviews on the International or the Western club? Worth a visit?

Thanks for that. I want to try the Vic some time, but I've heard it's too shark/reg infested.

incase you didnt know, you sat on my right, after our discussion off the 1/2 game.

and i didnt want you sitting with loads of cash, as i wanted to use my big stack to bully the fish and isolate the only player sitting deep.

ASPERS UPDATE

they have now closed ALL the carparks for the westfields shopping centre, until after the olympics, so its either the stratford centre carpark, or public transport.

so thats me done with the place, as i hear that crappy dangerous carpark charges approx £5 per hour! or something stupid.

Re: London

Can't you get the tube? Pretty easy to get there from the station. Yeah sorry I saw a big stack, assumed he was bad and loaded up!

Thanks for that. I want to try the Vic some time, but I've heard it's too shark/reg infested.

There are a lot of regs at the vic but most play pretty similarly and I go there because I think they have better dealers, room and I can eat the food. It would probably be more profitable for me to go elsewhere but I don't like sitting in the hole that is the empire for too long.

Oh ffs. Last week they swap the tourneys round on the day I was going to go, and this week they shut the car parks just before I plan on going. Seems like they're stacking the odds against me before I even arrive!

How far is asper's from the tube and is there late night access? The Vic is my local but I can get the jubilee all the way across town easily enough to have a butchers.

Tube station exits straight to Westfield shopping centre, then it's up two escalators and a walk short walk down, but essentially the casino is in the shopping centre which is just next to the tube station, it's safe, even if a 5-10 minute walk.
