Last time i played was Superbowl weekend. I usually play at the Belle. It was pretty busy there that weekend. I have played in the bounty tournement at the tropicana express, but it is mostly a luckfest after the first hour. Once a month the golden nugget has an 80 dollar buy in with 30 minute blinds, usually takes two days. Last few times i have played was 150-200 people. Not sure about the 10/20. I usually just play the tourneys and the 1-2 no limit. Occasional omaha, or 2-6 spread if nothing else is going on. let me know if you have any other questions i can answer. I dont get down there as often as i would like.

Lately the Riverside has been spreading 2-6 limit, 1-2 no limit and a 3-6 omaha hi lo, which is also standard at the belle but the belle offers the kill game where you have to request it at the riverside and have everyone want to do it, the tropicana had been one of the few left that had a regular 4-8 game but they just closed their room on March 31st and moved everything over to the River Palms. Harrahs has the 3-6 game with a kill and 2-5 no limit. Mostly all the rooms are about the bonuses now, riverside and the belle offer 24 hour a day cracked aces and various straight flush bonuses.

They moved the pokerroom back to the riverpalms? Didn't they just move it from the riverpalms to the tropicana express? That is just crazy.

I've played a few tourneys at the Harrah's there(low dough), and it seems to be 80% clueless tourists and 20% clueless locals who thought they were the ****.

My results were mixed, but we're talking 3-4 table tourneys-yawn.

yeah its a big joke, apparently they had people from the hard rock casino down looking at buying the river palms but when that fell through they decided to try and make it work again so they took the room from the trop which is ridiculous.

i will be in laughlin sunday 4/25-4/27. staying at harrahs. anyone know where any games other then limit he will be spread, and what stakes? mostly looking for 1-2nl or any low-mid limit o8 or stud/8 games.

Harrahs will usually have 1-2 nl and 2-5nl. The colorado belle sometimes has 3-6 o8 and usually has 1-2 nl. Seen a occasional stud game, but no stud/8. Has been a while since i have been down there.

That is crazy about the trop and riverpalms. A couple of years ago the riverpalms had fairly busy room with some decent rebuy tourneys and then it went to crap.

It was because they had such a great guy running the place! I'm joking, actually it was becoming a really decent room prior to the merger with Aztar, but such is life!

I hear that the Avi's room is doing pretty well these days. Can anyone confirm/ deny?

Jet skis are for chumps. Insiders know to go see the fish at the boat landing. Throw an old loaf of bread in the water piece by piece and you can damn near walk on water.

RP always had a poker room. They just made a new pokerroom at the Tropicana Ex which was great in the beginning but went downhill real fast. This plus the fact its too small is why they abandoned it.

That room was dying, and was in a bad spot and too small. It may work out better in the long run.

I winter in Laughlin but last month I have been in Cali enjoying a free house and poker 5 mins away but I will be back. I was also there when the B-17 was in town. Good little town!

I was just in Laughlin last weekend. To describe the poker there in one word, I'd have to say "miserable." I don't like NL, so maybe that's different, but the limit/spread-limit is all ****ty ****ty little $2-6 spread limit with a bunch of crotchety old retirees and more crotchety dealers pitching out about 20 hands an hour. I got lucky and found a 4/8 at Aquarius... that broke after about 45 minutes at about 8:00 on a Saturday night. The Edgewater was spreading a 2-2-4-8. I didn't think anything could be worse than 2-6, but they managed to figure it out. What a ****ty game.

I was hoping to find a bigger game at the Belle on Saturday night, but they also only had the little games.

I will give them points for their promotions, though. Instead of some ridiculous quads-over-quads lottery for $43967469743967, they have a bunch of smaller bonuses for aces cracked, straight flushes, quads, etc. Much better. If I have to contribute $1-$2 per pot for promos, I'd at least like it to go towards something I have a reasonable chance of hitting some time in this lifetime.

Anyone played at Harrah's Laughlin or any of the casinos around it? How is the poker scene out there. I received 3 comped nights and discount airfare so wondering if it's worth the trip?

My friend just returned from there and said they struggled to get a game going. The winter is busier there and the games are pretty soft.

I just stopped by on the way back from LV. Was suprised to see that Laughlin had a mini-Strip. I stopped in Harrahs. Was also suprised that they had a 2-6 limit and a 2/5nl going at 1:00am. I have never seen a room that had a 2/5 without a 1/2

I drove down to meet my grandmother who was staying there a few years ago.

I thought it was hilarious they had a 3/6 limit game going played with 3 dollar chips and big numbered cards

The only thing in Laughlin I found worth playing are the 30 and 100 dollar tourneys @ The Colorado Belle.

And one time at the Riverside, Don Laughlin was sitting there watching this ghetto ass $35 tourney that dosen't play all the way, after an hour or so whomever has the most chips is declared the winner. He was diggin it like it was the Main Event of the WSOP or something.

Generally, Poker in Laughlin sucks.

About three years ago I was in Laughlin for a golf tournament, and played a tourny at the Belle. A few hands into the tourny I take 30 seconds to think and make a re-raise to isolate with 10-10. There's three callers and a shove (lol). It gets back to me and I'm thinking. The dealer called time on me after 20 seconds and said "This isn't the Bellagio sweetie".

I won't be back.

I would consider that a positive. I like games where the action is fast. If you need to think for >20 seconds just to make one move I don't want to play with you (just a personal preference, I'm not saying your style of play is wrong or anything, I just do not like the slow pace of live poker so if the dealers are speeding it up I would actually appreciate that).

That being said, Harrah's keeps sending me comped offers for Laughlin, but I also get comped offers for Vegas, so I really don't see any reason to go there. Is this town worth visiting as a one-time change of pace thing or should I just keep going to Vegas?

The website doesn't tell much about the poker, just that they have hold'em and omaha, and ten different tables offering all limits. They also say about the promotions.

I'm wondering is there NLH? Or when they say 10 different tables offering all limits does it mean that it is all limit poker and omaha? If it is NLH or PLO, what do the stakes start at?

Is it worth playing at this casino at all? What is the action like? How do the games play? Is the room nice?

With their promotions, apparently if you get aces cracked you get $50 for same color, $25 for different color, and up to $500 if the aces were red. What's up with this? How can they pay out $500 to red aces that get cracked? The pot only has to be $20. Is this for real?

There isnt much NL action in Laughlin. There is a 2/5nl game of regs at harrahs most of the time and maybe some 1/2nl on weekends at some other casinos. Its mostly 2-6 spread limit or something similar.

Yeah, poker in Laughlin is pretty rough. If you are going, just go to have a good time and relax. Play the 2-6 spread limit or got to Harrahs and play the 3/6 limit. Drink for free and have fun. I remember a lot of the poker rooms having a lot of promotions going on, so just try to play during those times.

But really, unless it's Friday/Saturday night, you aren't seeing much action at the tables.

I'm moving there first of Feb so I'll be able to tell you better then. But I know 2 new rooms just opened up. Golden Nugget and I think the Riverside room is new as well. it makes me think there must be some demand for it if 2 new rooms opened.
