Are they are going to have 5/10 or at least decent 2/5 games?

played in the Sunday turbo at Harrahs today. Lasted about 5 hours, 41 entries, and was pretty soft. One pretty good reg by the final table. Bubbled out but got a couple bucks in the "bubble boy" deal. Overall, enjoyed it.

Just booked a room at Comfort Inn for about half of what Ameristar was charging. It looks close and Im sure it will be fine for no more then Ill be in it. Thanks.

Never stayed at that particular establishment, but you should be fine.

I am really leaning toward the PLO tournament as I won't have to take a whole day off work and I don't get many chances to play PLO tournaments.

Of the regular weekly tournaments at the 3 KC rooms, which are likely to have the best attendance, most money to be won, etc.

Thanks, Greg Raymer (FossilMan)

I don't know for sure if they are the biggest - but Hollywood actually lists their entrant counts on the bravo app.

If you are going to be playing one of the HPT side tournaments, it would be great if you gave us a heads up.

As to the regular tournaments, it would be whichever one you announce beforehand that you are playing. I would do all I could to publicize it and I am sure others would too.

thanks Doc. My brother and I are playing the noon event tomorrow (Sunday) at Ameristar, and doing a family brunch beforehand. Hope to see a big field, and then run good too. Everybody please say hi!

While I can't come and play, I will be stopping by shortly after three hoping to see you not only still playing but the chip leader.

Harrahs is having a Mega Stack tournament this Saturday at 10am. $350 buy-in with $300 of that toward the prize pool. 25,000 in starting chips with twenty minute blinds. The last time I played something similar, they had about 93 buy-ins.

I do have one issue and that is the cost is more than double their regular Saturday Super Stack, but you only get 5,000 more in chips. Hopefully, there are additional blind levels.

Harrahs is also having a ladies tourney this Sunday at 2pm.

I will be playing Saturday and hope to see all Kansas City area 2plus2 members there.

My cap is in storage, but I will still have the beard. And I will probably be wearing a Beatles t-shirt or a Cirque t-shirt.

Fifty players ended up entering the Mega Stack for a $15k prize pool. Unfortunately for me, I was probably the fish at my table and I played badly.

One player came to our table late and immediately complained about the structure. From what I understand, management really wanted feedback on the structure, but it seems all the guy wanted to do was complain.

Who is donkin around this weekend at HPT activity in Ameristar? I'm doing event #1 on Saturday and the $125 nightly's seem interesting.

I will be playing that event and the nightlies are fun.

One thing I don't understand is when I can register for event #1. The poster says starting at 9pm the night before the tournament. So can I sign up anytime from 9pm on Thursday (since the tournament starts Friday or from 9pm on Friday (since I want to play the Saturday starting day)?

Yeah you should be able to go to the cage and register anytime once registration starts.

The structure kinda sucks on the nightlies but will be fun regardless. I am going to try one of the single table satty's for Saturdays flight. I believe the satty's start running Thursday iirc

Headed to KC Tues-Sat for cash games/vaca. I assume cash games will be good/same as any other WSOP or HPT event stop with 2/5 and 5/10 NL?

Seems like 1/2NL is standard at Ameristar for the most part otherwise?

Ameristar is mostly dead outside of hpt

Harrahs 1/2 is pretty good lately. The game is (basically) uncapped and fishy. 1/3 game there also runs and is uncapped. I played a couple weekends ago when a friend recommended and was amazed at how soft 1/2 was. I usually play at hollywood which is busier but you see the same regs that have been there since it opened and the 1/3 is $300 max (they don't offer 1/2). Hope this helps and makes sense!! Good luck!

Anything NLHE bigger than 1/3 and Hollywood is the only game in town

But, during the HPT with increased traffic and out of towners, bigger games should go?
I know that's what happens here.

Like there's usually a 2/5 1-2x a week, and a 5-10 1x a week.
But those games go for 10 days when HPT/WSOP in town

yes, I'm sure there will be tons of 2/5 and 5/10 action. I haven't seen first hand, but only speculating.

Yes - there will be more action through the tournament. Not sure if it will go all 10 days straight, but you can count on an uptick of 2/5 and 5/T.
