If anyone has played the Harrah's Saturday NL tourney and the Ameristar Saturday NL tourney, I'd love to hear if you like one better and why.

I've misplaced the sheet on the Harrah's structure and while I know it was given at some point earlier in this thread, I'm going to get a new copy plus the structure from Ameristar so I can compare the two without having to look at a computer screen.

Based partially on cost, I'm thinking about playing the Ameristar tourney and following that up with Harrah's Pineapple tourney the same day. I liked the Pineapple tourney and pairing it with the Ameristar tourney would let me easily afford both. But the structure on the Harrah's NLHE tourney might be better which would lead me to play just that tourney.

Well, I wasn't able to compare the structures of the Harrahs tourney and the Ameristar tourney because Ameristar doesn't have any kind of handout with the structure. This makes me lean toward the Harrah's tourney.

Found out something I wish I had known last night. Harrah's has changed their Friday night NLHE tourney to a Pot Limit Omaha tourney.

Can some1 plz PM ME next time they plan on playing 10/25 NLHE (NO PLO) at Hollywood. I saw last Friday they actually played 25/50 on Bravo and I was out of town. Usually the GF only lets me play Tues & Thurs but I'm willing to just tell her to STFU if there is a 10/25 game going on. I'm always willing to donate

I would try Hollywood Casino in Kansas City, KS - it's near the western junction of I-70 and I-435.

So, weekday games are available correct? How's the crowd?

Ameristar: 1/2nl usually opens around noon. By far the weakest of the 3 casinos. The also usually always have a 3/6 limit game going.

Harrahs: Almost always have a 1/2nl game going, and will sometimes have a 1/3 game. Usually will have multiple 1/2nl tables by 2pm.

Hollywood: The widest range of games in the area. always a 1/2 or 1/3 game and most of the time a 2/5nl game is open or a list is going as well. Also a lot of omaha games as well.

Are you looking for any game in particular?

HPT is coming to Kansas City's Ameristar Casino from April 25th to May 4th, 2014 with STTs beginning on April 24th.

Anyone else, besides me, planning to play at least one HPT event?

I can't decide whether to play the $230 buy in first event and try to win enough to pay for a Main Event seat or to play the $200 qualifier later that same night.

Im gonna play in one first weekend, but hoping they can get 5/10 NLHE cash going up there from the traffic of this event

I've decided to play the very first event on Friday the 25th of April. If I win it, I'm pretty sure I'll have enough money to buy into the main event if I want or if I have the energy, I can play the event later that night and try for a seat that way.

Sorry to see that it looks like Harrah's has gone back to nothing but NLHE tournaments.

Is this the first time the hpt has been in Kansas city? Just curious if it will be a big turnout. I'm going to try to play a few events

As far as I know this is the first time the HPT has been in Kansas City so who knows what the turnout will be, but given KC's central location I'd expect it to be a good one.

I noticed something on the HPT flyer that I had questions about so I went to Ameristar to get them answered. What I noticed is that Event #1 is said to be two days, but the counter guy at the poker room didn't know about it until I pointed it out on the flyer.

What is funny though is Event #8 is the same buy-in, the same starting chip stack, and the same blind time but it is said to be a one day event.

I guess I'll find out the reason for the discrepancy when the series comes to town. If Event #1 is two days, I don't have the time so I guess I will play Event #8. Even if Event #8 is two days, I will have the time.

The HPT schedule is so confusing and I have no interest in going to Ameristar to try and figure it out. Im just gonna show up to one of these events and try and play and if it doesn't work out I'll just bounce to Hollywood lol.

Schedule is not hard to read imo

I think the first one is 2 days because they might be expecting a bigger turn out and the last one is after the main so maybe a lot of players will not stick around after the main. But the schedule looks pretty easy to read to me

The schedule isn't hard to figure out IF you read it thoroughly. Which I didn't do the first time.

With the Heartland PT at Ameristar, do you think a trip to Hollywood will be worth it this weekend? I would be driving up from Joplin. Can't stand playing at Downstream on the weekend.

DEFINITELY - because HPT is at Ameristar April 25, NOT March. You have a few weeks.
